  1. Or alternatively the main road hogs the junctions nose to tail without letting anyone else in - seen it happen - Broomhill is a fine example. And it would be well nigh impossible to turn right on to a dual carraigeway (say Penistone Road down from Tescos) without lights.
  2. He sure does. All the same plodding pace - the same "spacey" effects - essentially slightly more dynamic versions of Pete Green doing "Albatross". He was better impersonating Syd on Ummagumma.
  3. I've seen Floyd put on some brilliant ones but they were nearly 40 years ago - before nearlly every song had a leaden blues solo from Gilmour.
  4. A lot did and found that unfortunately they were the victims of the local knuckle draggers so did the safety in numbers routine. Seen it happen in Stocksbridge and Doncaster. My neighbours family have been in this country for over 50 years and last year I still had some idiot talking to me in the pub about the "asylum seekers" living next to me
  5. I think you're largely talking "was" - the Polish plumbers nearly all went home when the recession started.
  6. You can still catch the train from Donny to London and pass through nothing bigger than Peterborough. Sheffield was much more overcrowded in the 1920's / 30's / 40's / 50's - pretty much the same population as now but living in a much smaller area.
  7. Jon Boden - Songs From The Floodplain, solo album from the lead singer of fabulous Bellowhead and half of the finest folk duo Spiers & Boden.
  8. The Wall sounded dated and plodding in 1980 - 30 years on I dread to think what it will sound like.
  9. I think that "application" on facebook has a huge inbuilt bias towards the BNP. I answered every question as if a "tree hugging, sandal wearing, do gooder" and still came out 33% BNP.
  10. Newcastle United fans usually.
  11. Where are these car friendly cities where you can drive wherever you like without encountering one way systems, bus lanes, traffic lights, blocked rat runs, where main roads run freely even at rush hour?
  12. Clumber Park is great for kids that age and you won't need any special outdoor gear.
  13. I think we're all a tad confused as to why opposing fascist cranks is supporting the "establishment".
  14. Trouble was that the above applied to far more council properties with nobody in employment.
  15. No way - Satan was a big Rotweiller owned by a bloke on the Manor.
  16. Wrong again. It has largely tended to happen when there is insufficient labour available in the local market. Didn't the sacred Enoch start it when we had a shortage of workers in the NHS?
  17. Can't see "turn the clocks back to when men were men and women were glad of it" being much of a vote winner.
  18. I don't think anybodies denying that public services will be cut. It was the "already paid for" myth I intended to kill dead - quite a lot of people on here do tend to think of NI as some sort of "savings" - although they tend to blame public spending cuts on immigrants / asylum seekers - glad we've got that one out of the way
  19. Aye, keep lasses barefoot, pregnant and chained to the kitchen sink
  20. What "already paid for public services"? Public services are - and have always been - paid for out of current taxation (and increasingly government debt) - not some sort of savings account.
  21. No repudation of a liking for jackboots, martial music, toothbrush moustaches and stiff one armed salutes then
  22. So explain in your own words what wonderful society we have "degraded" from. What wonders existed before "cultural marxism"?
  23. "Gordon Brown, the UK prime minister, did move boldly on bank recapitalisation" From that well known bastion of socialism, the Daily Telegraph. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/breakingviewscom/4139504/Strong-leadership-is-needed-to-prevent-a-recession-becoming-a-slump.html
