  1. Lyrics that I love change depending on whats happening in my life....so at the moment I would say the following lyrics are very fitting.... " Its not that I'm letting go of you ...but I don't know what to do..." Skeleton Song / Kate Nash ...
  2. I'm lined up to see : The Long Blondes Reverend and the Makers Little Man Tate Sugababes Girls Aloud Dirty Pretty Things Plus hopefully many more if I get a ticket for Glastonbury! x
  3. BBs is really nice on Division Street....they have an upstairs for large parties....me and my mates go there quite abit for birthdays...the atmosphere is lovely, great food and you can take your own wine! The West One complex also has some nice restaurants....Antibos / Las Iguanas are both really nice! Plus Vodka Revolution and Bar 23 are in the same area and are perfect for pre-meal drinkies! x
  4. Sex and the City! I miss it Although the film is due out soon so can't complain too much!
  5. 1) All my loving 2) Can't buy me love 3) Get back 4) 8 days a week 5) Hello, Goodbye These are my favourites....although it was a difficult choice as there are soooo many good songs! xx
  6. I watched the Grammys last week.....they went without a hitch....full of well behaved Americans perfectly following auto-cues and award winners graciously accepting their Grammys with perfect speeches......then fast forward to the Brits....drunken speeches, messed up auto-cues and the presenter shouting "P*sshead" at the guests! In theory we should be mortified but I actually think its hilarious....the Brits were far more entertaining and I suppose they do paint a realistic picture of our country???! Oh dear! lol... I wonder what the Americans would think if they had watched it ? xx
  7. The Mossbrook is lovely....I go with my family all the time. My mum is vegetarian and also enjoys the variety of food on offer. Atmosphere is lovely too....a cosy yet modern family pub.
  8. I think its a great idea! Some of my mates are always moaning coz there isn't this kinda bar in Sheff centre. Would be packed too I bet! x
  9. I hope your right Craig! I didn't realise you were a DJ there...sorry! lol. I didn't mean any offence to any Leadmill DJ with what I said...I understand why the nights/music have changed....its just one of those things! Have a good night! x
  10. Thanks for all your ideas! Craig in response to your question about the Leadmill - my friends and I used to love the Leadmill (we were always in the small room on a Friday and the main room on a Saturday booging away! ) ....However, we have felt the clientelle @ Leadmill has changed alot....obviously to do with indie music going mainstream and we found alot of our friends/regulars from the Leadmill were heading off to other places.... Also, the music we like (and request) ...are not necessarily mainstream and hence never get played.
  11. If you can lend me some money then I'm there! haha...
  12. Merry Christmas everyone! Just wondered if anyone can help me and my mates plan what to do on NYE. We have gone into town and onto the Leadmill for the last 2 years running and we have enjoyed it each time. However....over the last year our time at the Leadmill has decreased and we have spent most of our time in DQ. So...now that NYE is approaching again, we are stuck on what to do. The Leadmill isn't really our scene anymore and DQ is a "hush hush guestlist only party" Does anyone have any other ideas? We love indie music. I've looked at the Plug but it seems to be just dance music so I can't see us going there... Also does anyone know if every bar open past midnight is ticket only? e.g. The Forum, The Common Room, Bungalows and Bears... we love these bars so I can see us staying in them for New Year if we can. Any advice would be great! xx
  13. I go to see the ice hockey at the arena so I know where each block is - and 101 is def good view for a concert. Its on the bottom tier, right next to the stage. Wherever u are sat in that block, you are guaranteed a great view!
  14. Hiya, My friend has just rang me - she is stuck in Rotherham and needs to get to Owlthorpe. Police have told her to go onto M18 and M1 to get home, she is convinced this way is still closed though. Anyone know?? Thanks. xx
  15. Hello! Me and my mates normally descend upon the recently deceased Gatecrasher .... .....on a saturday night as we love their funky house night in the main room. However..we are now stuck on where to go! Can anyone reccomend any other places that play commercial funky house on a Saturday? One of my friends mentioned the Plug...we weren't sure whether it was well known funky house though that is played there. Any suggestions would be great. Thankyou! p.s. R.I.P. Republic. U shall be missed xxx
  16. There's Centertainment across from Sheffield arena thats got all sorts of restaurants in close proxmity plus a bowling alley and cinema. Its abit away from the city centre but near Meadowhall if you're visiting there? There is also TGI fridays nearby.
  17. Leadmills got a night on. Room 1 - Pop and Dance classics Room 2 - Indie and Motown
  18. I saw Posh Spice in Primark near Castle Market...who'd av thought it eh!
  19. I managed to get one...bloody struggled though! Really looking forward to Maximo Park - they were great last year! But no Dirty Pretty Things or Kasabian I've heard that more tickets will be released in later months leading up to August so anyone who was unlucky getting one should keep an eye on see tickets and official Leeds site! Ooo im soooo excited !! xx
  20. I think if a band or a singer makes u smile...and maybe even have a sing and dance! ...then its all been worth while. I agree with Starsparkle....I don't care what anyone else likes either....I love what I love and Im happy....I think its quite funny when people attack others just because of their musical taste... ..can't we all just like whatever we like? Be the Arctic Monkeys (shock, horror!) or an unknown band... In the great masterplan of life does it really matter ? Each to their own I say! x Oh n another quick point made by original author of this thread who quoted : "We’ve had 50 years of what we know as pop/ rock music – surely we’ve heard every sound a guitar can make and every cliché in the book by now" In reply to that .....I like to listen to current music by a genre that I was born in and grew up around.
  21. The main hotels in the centre would prob be the best....my uni prom was held at the Novotel on Arundal Gate. My 6th form one was at the cutler hotel across from the cathedral. Both nice places. There's also the Grovner. plus many more im sure as people will add. Hotels are def your best bet...good prices....plus you can wander into town after to a club..and then book a room and stay over! x
  22. They said it was a gig to "reward loyal fans"....so why did they announce it to the nation a couple of days before which then prompted every man and its dog rushing to register. Surely...just keeping it quiet and using the existing mailing list would have been more rewarding to the "loyal fans" who were on the mailing list anyway??? Just a thought....I'm bitter...coz I didn't get any tickets either I never seem to have any luck with tickets when it comes to the Arctics! x
  23. Tonight......... Line-up announced 6.45pm On sale at 7pm. Cannot wait! Anyone planning to go ?? xx
