Begging on West Street/Division Street
GrapeApe replied to SNES's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Well luckily for society there aren't many people like you around. I know it's pointless to say this but poeple could try actually finding out facts before posting rubbish on here -
who cares? they are a joke party who will go the same way as the BNP...into oblivion

So what you're saying is that a new light was fitted, turned our to be put in wrongly and was then put right? Sounds like a sensible way of doing things to me. How would you have done it differently?....and how would you have let the contract? to whom? Do you honestly think the Council's procurement and legal team would have let a contract of this size without proper consideration. The Council has to have crack contract management teams these days because many of the private contractors do all they can to manipulate and get round the contract clauses and maximise their profits...believe me the last thing they'll be doing is being profligate or tolerating time wasting ....quite the reverse if anything

We'd be worse off too. Bit disappointed but I suppose it shows that our EON deal is a good one.

City council spends £200k on translators
GrapeApe replied to KeefisGod's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
If the true amount is really 200k, it actually doesn't sound very much at all for a city this size with the numbers of different languages spoken ---------- Post added 15-04-2013 at 19:14 ---------- When are you starting to learn it? -
Why did the Labour government close so many coal mines?
GrapeApe replied to Dingus's topic in General Discussions
There is nothing wrong with closing down the filthy industry that took the lives and health of thousands of men over decades. The issue I have with the Tory decimation of heavy industry is that they did it on a grand scale with absolutely no regard to the consequences for the communities who relied on those industries for their very existence. Mines and steel works closed with nothing to replace them. Money, jobs and hope sucked out of towns and villages across Wales and northern England The Tories vindictive hatred of unions and their members overshadowed everything and we will see the consequences for generations to come. -

Like the open pricing on the website but it says nothing about their experience which would be my first question. -
