  1. Loved reading this thread. Sheffield has so much we should be grateful for and itโ€™s so easy to take it for granted. Thanks Sherry!
  2. Good find! I use this roundabout several times a week. I always use the lane marked by the arrows to go straight on. I've never had someone try to turn left from the middle lane and cut me up. Maybe I've just been lucky...
  3. Judging by the apparent change in lane markings, you'd have been okay in the past taking the white car route because the left lane on the roundabout fed round to Rotherham exit, but now, coming from Shepcote Lane, looks like middle lane on the roundabout is the only route to take without changing lanes since the lane markings changed.
  4. I can't make my mind up now! I drive this route often and always take the white car route, as do all the cars I've followed. Never seen any one attempt the black car manoeuvre. However, whilst the arrows on approach indicate white car is in the right position, I can see why the black car would follow the lane markings on the roundabout. If the black car is right, arrows are wrong. If white car is right, lane markings are wrong. Interestingly, area51's link at post 344 seemingly shows old lane markings where it is clear that the left lane can go either left or straight on. The lane markings now as seen in Nugget's video seem to suggest that the left lane should only go left, despite the arrows indicating straight on or left. If lane markings take precedence over arrows, then black car route might be correct, but like others have said, most taking the road to Rotherham would take the white car's route. Repainting needed, definitely.
  5. White car did not change lanes. Black car tried to take first exit but was not entitled to do so. Just seen your edit Nugget. Agreed- roundabout at fault.
  6. They are heading away from Meadowhall. White car is heading to Rotherham in the correct lane. Black car is in the lane to go on Bawtry Rd or M1S but decides to try to go towards M1N on viaduct in wrong lane.
  7. Black car completely at fault. White car fully entitled to go straight ahead from that position. Black car failed to follow road markings.
  8. Definitely the site next to the retail park. Planning docs indicate the required road upgrades are yet to start.
  9. I very much recommend Hop Hideout, the beer shop at Vintedge. The selection is excellent and the staff are lovely.
  10. Does this help? http://www.thestar.co.uk/what-s-on/out-about/preface-to-a-new-chapter-1-246518
  11. Itrytoplease, I phoned up SYP a few years ago to report an issue very similar to yours. They were very friendly and polite, checked the system, told me there were no reports the car was stolen. All done in a few minutes. Fair point that email would be easier, but as another poster mentioned, if the person reporting is on the phone, then the operator can get the necessary details there and then. If any detail was missed from the original email to SYP, then they would have to rely on the person reporting responding immediately or risk being unable to respond appropriately to the issue reported.
  12. F W Wallace did mine a few years ago. I was perfectly happy with the work, but was only a relatively minor job and was fortunately the only time I've needed bodywork repairing, so I couldn't say how their work compares to other companies.
  13. The beers changed even while I was in there for a short while earlier, but at the time they had Brewster's Marquis, Wild Rider, Churchill, something else, and the usuals. I had a Milton's Sparta and the Wild Rider (5.5%). Milton's was nice, but changed to something else after I had the first pint.
  14. Petrol pumps are in. They're just finishing off the signage on the petrol station roof. Opening on Monday 31st according to a big advert near Kelham Island. Guess they just forgot to update the 5 weeks until opening sign.
  15. I'm not sure about availability, but your two closest sports halls are probably at the two university sports centres. Hallam's on Collegiate Crescent is about 1km from Endcliffe Avenue. The Uni's centre on Northumberland Road is about 1.5km away. http://students.shu.ac.uk/sport/open.html http://www.sheffield.ac.uk/usport/where/goodwin
