Sheffield is very mixed I think. First impressions if you arriva at the Interchange aren't great, and the area around Castle Market is grim, and yes it does have some damn ugly 60's buildings... ...but... ...it also has some lovely buildings and plenty of parks and trees. Also, which other city (apart from Brighton) has a national park within its boundaries?

Does your local chippy sell saveloys? If so, where is it? They don't seem so popular in Yorkshire but the further south you go they're in almost every chippy, even as close as Mansfield..

Sheffield shows on both the weather maps for the Look North (Leeds based) and the Look North (Hull based) editions. When you turn your telly on and watch the BBC local news, which edition do you get? I thought everyone in Sheffield got the Leeds based edition.

I read somewhere that Sheffield and Chesterfield people have the same accent. Would you agree? I personally think the Chesterfield accent is different.

Given the little branch to Herdings Park now just has a hourly service, is it time to get rid of it and concentrate on the main services to Halfway? Having a tram service that operates once each hour in a city the size of Sheffield seems odd.

Given a lot of the regeneration on The Moor would now be a good time to demolish the hideous and ugly Debenhams building and replace it with something much nicer?

Surely spending that money on attracting new tenants to these empty units would be better.

Such a depressing thought but probably an accurate one.

Do you think Sheffield city centre will bounce back from its current state? With new developments taking shape amidst a backdrop of many empty stores, what do you think lies ahead for its future?

A friend and I came to Sheffield last night to see Kevin Bridges. At 18:30 we saw one person laid on the road near Fitzalan Square, and outside HMV a bloke bent over looking like a zombie. I think both were on Spice. I have never seen this in Leeds or anywhere else. Can anyone tell me Sheffield particular has a problem with Spice?
