  1. I was just about to post a thread on how anti football Brighton play. From the kick off they went for touch rugby style. Their centre forward Murray was their furthest forward at times 20-30 yards inside his own half. For the second goal Murray misplaced a pass back in to his own penalty box - but what was he doing standing just outside his own penalty box anyway? At home cheered on by 30 000 plus enthusiatic fans they play a ultra defensive brand of football that is appalling on the eye. I swapped channels just before half time to watch a real estate show. The local preliminary final here in Australia was a far,far better spectacle. A 5-0 win to Sydney over Melbourne. At least Melbourne tried to attack from the start to the finish.
  2. True but money tends to attract the best players. I did some research on Frankfurt. They are a big club with a stadium of 51 000 capacity that is mostly full. Their highest paid player is on 37K lol. I'm sure some Chelsea reserves are on more. Found this as well..... The financial might of the Premier League is further confirmed by the enormous disaprity between the wages it pays and those handed out by the rest of Europe. Somewhat surprisingly, the Bundesliga has the second highest wage bill in Europe but it's less than half that of the Premier League, which pays out three million euros a week on average. Germany's €1.35 million average is slightly above Spain and Italy, while, among the 20 highest-paying leagues, German club football continues to have the lowest wage to revenue ratio (50 percent).
  3. Look at the Europa Cup match with Frankfurt. I'm pretty sure the income of Chelsea will dwarf that of their opponents. There are only going to be a few clubs that will be able to compete financially with EPL clubs. Barca,Real,Bayern,PSG,Bayern and Juventus but for how long? Each year the disparity in income between the EPL and the other big leagues is ever increasing so the writing is on the wall. For the Europa Cup the depth of financial imbalance between the leagues is even greater. English teams are likely to win this trophy most years with their massive financial advantage.

  5. One big con from the producers of Hollywood. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2280782261985508&id=100001612693261&refsrc=http%3A%2F%2Ft.co%2FjovCaL9TkU&_rdr
  6. As I mentioned a year or two ago in another thread English teams are going to make the CL and Europa Cup a procession in the future. With all their money from TV rights it makes it nigh on impossible for clubs from other countries to compete. There will always be an exemption to the rule - Ajax this year but I see English clubs having close to complete domination of the CL and especially the Europa Cup for the foreseeable future. The gap in revenue is only going to get worse in the coming years. UEFA need to do something urgently otherwise the CL and Europa Cup will eventually fall out of favour with English clubs, a bit like the FA Cup has. A trophy that is relatively easy to win - only competing against 3 other teams of similar level and financial means will eventually fall out of favour for prestige. It will however always be seen as the biggest club trophy of all from the other European countries.

  10. Looking at the Man.City team in the next 2-3 years - I do not see much need for change. Fernandinho is 33 might need replacing soon but most of the others are coming into their best years. They need to stop Sane and De Sus from leaving at the end of the season. Man.Utd need to stop buying duds like Lukkaku,Fred and Parreira. Martial and Dalot still not sure about. Both would struggle to get anywhere near the Man City team. Ryan Fraser and Wilson from Bournemouth would be two great buys. Zaha has improved and might be worth another go. I see Liverpool and Man.City finishing top two for many years to come. The rest are light years behind if Wednesday's game was any indication. At least Utd were half competitive attaining 34 percent of possession. Many of the other teams only see around 20 -25 percent of the ball when playing City which makes watching the game a bore fest.
  11. As a neutral I really enjoyed the game. Best standard game I've watched all season,at least from one team! Man. city were irresistible at times playing football that the best Brazilian national teams would have trouble matching for skill. The back four of City has so much ability to play the ball out especially the left back Zinchenko who I think only gave the ball away once in the whole match. The first touch and passing ability was what stood out for me as the biggest difference between the two teams. For United Shaw,Pogba and Rashford have the ability,Lindelof perhaps. The others look very uncomfortable on the ball in comparison to their opponents. Fred had trouble executing a basic pass at times,Parreira looks no more than a hatchet man with moderate ability. Mata and Matic could have offered a lot more in terms of keeping the ball but then what do I know. Smalling is a great defender but under pressure cannot play the ball out like Kompany or La Porte. The cross by Young late in the game that ended up in the crowd sums up his level. I think Man.Utd need close to a whole new squad of players to get anywhere near their opponents level. Man.City and Liverpool are possibly the best two teams in the history of English football.
  12. Anyone who thinks Sane has not been one of City's very best three players this season is daft. By some margin the best left winger in the EPL this season I would have thought. I tend to think had he played in both matches a different team would have one. You do not leave out your very best players in such games unless of course for injury. He only played 7 minutes of normal time in the two legs - that is baffling. I have yet to hear of any explanation. Not saying it was fixed but you never know these days. Pep might be the daft one.
  13. On a side note I just read on the BBC Sport that Sane has asked to leave Man. City. He played only 7 minutes of normal time in the two matches against Spurs - this despite being the best left winger in the EPL all season by some considerable margin. Never seriously considered that any matches were fixed or had outside influences to help to achieve a desired result. That changed after the Spurs v Man.City matches.
  14. If you think your players are going to be tired to play a far more important game in three days time you would rest them. They've played many games midweek throughout the season with no problems. In the second leg he leaves out Sane and only brings him on in the 84th minute. Sane and Sterling's wing play has been the biggest feature of their play all season and arguably have been their best two players. Leaving Sane out is the equivalent of Klopp leaving out Mane. Fernandinho has been a first 11 player all season when fit yet he was dropped for the second leg. I fail to understand why Pep changed his normal first eleven in both legs so much. Sure many City fans will lay the blame squarely on his shoulders for clearly not selecting their best team in both legs. Sane only played 7 minutes of normal time over the two legs despite being their second best player this season. He must be wondering what is going on.
  15. The most thuggish team I've ever come across in recent years anyway - Aberdeen. The assault on Christie in the semi final was super bad....https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/47927551 However, later in the game the two footed deliberate lunge on Rogic was X rated and should not be viewed. He is lucky he managed to avoid the assault otherwise that is a career ending tackle. The SFA need to throw the book at them. They have shamed the game of football in Scotland.
  16. If Joey Barton is found guilty surely he should go......from the BBC An incident allegedly involving Joey Barton leaving a rival manager with "blood pouring from his face" is being investigated by police. The Fleetwood boss clashed with Barnsley manager Daniel Stendel in the tunnel after Saturday's 4-2 League One defeat at Oakwell, according to Barnsley player Cauley Woodrow. He claimed on Twitter that Stendel had been "physically assaulted" and left with "blood pouring from his face". Woodrow later deleted the tweet. On Monday, South Yorkshire Police issued a new statement, saying: "South Yorkshire Police is continuing to investigate reports of an assault at Barnsley Football Club on the afternoon of Saturday 13 April. "No arrests have been made at this time and enquiries remain ongoing." Barnsley said they "could confirm there was an alleged incident" and the club was"assisting the police with its enquiries". Fleetwood said they had "been made aware of an alleged incident" and were "currently establishing the facts".
  17. If indeed nothing untoward like a betting scam or something happened, then what a monumental balls up by the City boss. Certain the majority of Man.City fans must have been bemused when they heard the team news. In cricket it has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that payoffs were made to many of the players.
  18. So much evidence especially in the past that some of the WC cricket matches were rigged but my concerns over football were virtually nil till last night...... Pep Guardiola the Man .City boss decides to leave three of his best four players out the team for last nights game against Tottenham. Leroy Sane and Bernado Silva along with Sterling have clearly been Man .Citys best players this season. Then he also left out of Kevin De Bruyne who I also consider to be one of their best four players. Selecting Otamendi ahead of Stones or Kompany was also a surprise. Two of the substitutions, Sane and Kevin De Bruyne according to the BBC Sport website were in the 89th minute! One of the biggest games in the clubs history if not the biggest and he selects a first eleven that to most looks like a team selection for a home match against Fulham.
  19. What they deem as fake is up to them of course. https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-47826946 Jim Killock, executive director of Open Rights Group, said the government's proposals would "create state regulation of the speech of millions of British citizens". Matthew Lesh, head of research at free market think tank the Adam Smith Institute, went further. He said: "The government should be ashamed of themselves for leading the western world in internet censorship. "The proposals are a historic attack on freedom of speech and the free press. "At a time when Britain is criticising violations of freedom of expression in states like Iran, China and Russia, we should not be undermining our freedom at home." And freedom of speech campaigners Article 19 warned that the government "must not create an environment that encourages the censorship of legitimate expression".
  20. Just like a certain type of sex it is unnatural and dirty
  21. I watch all three.....religiously. New York,LA and San Francisco. Los Angels has two for sure, New York at least one, possibly two and then I watched SF last night for the first time and then I saw one of the male agents kissing his boyfriend. Now you are welcome to call me a liar but facts are facts only because they are backed by evidence that is difficult to contradict - like taking the time to watch the shows.
  22. Despicable, give me a break. I was watching Milliin Dollar Losting from San Francisco the other night. They showed one of the male real estate agents kissing his boyfriend. Funny how they rarely show a hetero male agents kissing their wives or girlfriends. Tip - it is called programming. I am against this constant promotion of all this LBGQ stuff by the mainstream media. Much of it is very subtle as well. Why do around half the population think it is immoral - you'll have to ask them that. For me watching a couple of the same sex kissing - to me it is just plain wrong.
  23. People are allowed to believe homosexuality and changing genders via various means is immoral - it's called free will. No explanation is needed.
  24. Many religions including Christianity believe homosexuality is immoral. Possibly looking at around half the worlds population. It does not mean these people discriminate against homosexual and transgender people. I have never discriminated even once against such people though I do not support it in any way,and yes I do believe it is immoral.
  25. Another interesting article showing how if you disagree with homosexuality or transgenderism your options are cut. https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/yale-law-excludes-students-who-work-at-christian-conservative-orgs-from-financial-support April 3, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) - In the latest reminder that traditional Christian values are increasingly unwelcome in modern academia, Yale Law School has reportedly excluded students who work at organizations that stand by Biblical teachings on homosexuality from several financial support programs. Aaron Haviland, a Yale Law student and Marine Corps veteran, reports at The Federalist that on March 25, the school announced its "nondiscrimination" policy was being expanded to summer public interest fellowships, post-graduate public interest fellowships, and loan forgiveness for careers in public interest. Specifically, these resources would no longer be made available to students and graduates who joined organizations that supposedly "discriminate" on the basis of "sexual orientation and gender identity and expression."
