funniest, most accurate and brimming with irony post in years!!!Â
I'll take that as a compliment, but to add more irony I just found out Zain isnt only a muslim name - Sorry Rich my mistake.

I think it was ...errrrr Wayne Rooney....:hihi:Â
That was a real LOL for me.

If 95% of people want peace and 5% want war, there will be war. That is unless the ones wanting peace actively do something to prevent it.Â
"All that is required for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing"
Â
One of my favourite quotes.
Â
Has just became one of mine aswell who/what is it from?
Â
Jose Mourinho - "It is a world that sometimes disgusts me to live in and earn a living from, but it is my world".
I like this one also but at the end it emphasis the point made about Greed.

Wharever you do do NOT vote BNP, even if all your mates do...Â
I guess the name Zain gives nothing away to you?
-
With the price of oil as it is i cant see things changing in the near futureÂ
If oil could be replaced, what are the other main issues that prevent peace?
Â
A list would be nice so I can work on it in my spare time and hopefully get the worlds greatest minds to do the same.

Just go to polling station and give your name and addressÂ
Thanks I haven't been paying much attention to it lately, is it only the referendum or is there option to vote for local parties also.
-
Did you get a polling card through the post?Â
yea threw it away though.

The 17th and 18th centuries were centuries of war, so were the nineteenth and twentieth. It is already very obvious that the 21st will be a century of war too. War is the natural state, it is merely the means by which it is fought that changes. As I world we now have greater access and equipment to blow each other up than ever before.
Ah well, perhaps next century will be better!
Â
You paint a dull and likely realistic picture, but I hope your wrong. With so much of the worlds poppulation wanting peace, how is it that such a small amount drag the majority into a war.
Â
Jabberwocky your last sentence hit the nail on the head, but if only a society didnt need a crisis to be distracted from "scrapping" as you put it.
-
I have never voted before, do you have to register? I threw away all the documents they sent about it. I know feel a new sense of optimism and would like to vote today if possible.

There wont be peaceful times until humanity is no more.Â
Well animals aren't exactly peaceful towards one another, the earth will probably be in peace once were gone, but I was refering to the most peaceful time humans have lived through.
-
The most peaceable time was probably during the Roman Empire under the Nerva Antonines. When the Empire was run under the absolute power of the man in charge. Gibbon said that this was the period when nthe human race were most happy and prosperous.Â
No democracy though. Discuss?
Â
Sounds pretty good, fair enough we will all be under the rule of the man. But atleast we will be together. Im sure it will be more complex but sounds nice in a sentence.
-
With the death of Osama Bin Laden, if this was to bring an end to the war in Afghanistan and Iraq. Hoping the middle east protestors get what they want. Could we be heading for more peaceful times?
-
The photos should not be released, he caused enough problems while he was alive. Hopefully he is quickly forgotten in his death, its a shame the news channels are still talking about him.
Â
Its a shame they coulndt do this earlier, we could have done without the 2 wars started because of his actions.

OK some good news, I still would like to know why the problem was caused but here is a fix I found.
Â
On the website just before I click "accept and install", if instead of the actual URL I type in any random letters I can then proceed and install the add-on.
Â
I have no idea why this works but it does, if anyone can explain it to me I would greatly apprecaite it.

National Grid Gas Meter Exchange Programme
in General Discussions
Posted
Hi SF,
Â
I recieved a letter today,
Â
The gas meter in your property has been identified as being of an age that is coming to the end of its useful life. It is essential that the meter be exchanged. This work will not change your current gas supplier and all agreements between you and your gas supplier remain in place.
Â
There is no charge for this work, which takes approximately 30 minutes. Please note access to your property is required to complete this work even if your gas meter is located outside.
Â
A number of companies undertake this work on our behalf. Should you wish to confirm the identity of the engineer who calls please telephone the number given on the back of the identity card that all engineers carry.
Â
I thank you in anticipation of assisting us to complete this necessary work. If the planned date above is not convenient then you can arrange an alternative appointment via the internet on http://www.nationalgrid.com/metering or alternatively please contact us on 0845 606 6766.
Â
Yours Faithfully
Delivery manager
Â
Anyone else had a similar letter, or had the work carried out before? Im not sure if I want to let them in, they may end up changing it only to find a fault which wasnt there before but I have to pay to put right.
