  1. Careful t020, I think you may be about to be bombarded with half-a-dozen or so obscure literary quotes, or perhaps some more of this:- The best thing is to let him back and pm everyone to ignore him.
  2. Haven't a clue, but I definitely don't walk around with one when I'm not down our soft Southern tin mine. Also don't need a cloth cap as it's far too warm down here. Has to be or all us West Country poofters would die of hypothermia!
  3. Same can be said (although you haven't, I notice) for sigs in all capitals. They tend to overshadow the post.
  4. t020 - about your last pm. I see what you mean!!!
  5. I never met one person living in Cornwall who actually liked them -mind you they were probably all surfers who are on a different planet anyway! I actually do like them now I don't live in Cornwall. Whenever my family go to Newquay or St Ives everyone says 'ooh, aren't those windmills lovely?' Yes, of course, they are. Wouldn't like to live underneath one though as they make a h*ll of a humming noise when in full flow!!
  6. Personally, I think this thread should now be removed (not that any one will listen) as the author is no longer on the Forum and cannot defend his opinions or reply to any of these posts.
  7. I agree wholheartedly. Anyone wishing to discuss toilet habits should try the 'Why do they have these silly days' thread in General Chit-Chat
  8. Anyone spot the odd one out here? Only five of the above are legitimate, creditable organisations. The other one isn't.
  9. Seriously though (What me, serious?), I think we have to take a step back and appreciate that sometimes people post statements merely to provoke a reaction (and, yes, I am guilty of this from time to time). I agree that no reasonably sane person would advocate the use of nuclear weapons to combat terrorism. Previously we have been distanced from this type of threat - the IRA were a different type of issue - but now it is on our own doorsteps. People are afraid, and the 'let's nuke 'em' ploy is merely a gut reaction instigated by fear. I have no particular thoughts on the merits or otherwise of George Bush. I am not all that well-educated, quite the reverse, but, to my mind, any system which elects the likes of Ronald Reagan to be in charge of the most powerful country in the world has to be viewed with an extreme degree of suspicion. As for Al Qaeda, history is riddled with tales of religious attrocities, killing and maiming to install their beliefs on others (and Christianity is not exept from this!). Thankfully, most societies and religions have moved on, others are still living in the dark ages. In my own opinion, for what it's worth - and I'm sure many will disagree - I think we can debate this issue until we're blue in the face, but will, ultimately, be unable to produce any reasonable solutions. In the case of the IRA, this was always a political issue and negotiations were always feasable or, at the very least, hopeful. How can you hope to negotiate with anyone who is prepared to strap themselves up with explosives and kill both themselves and others in the name of religion? Religious fanaticism is well beyond my comprehension, I'm afraid. P.S. I've gone 75/25 in your favour on this one, Geoff!!
  10. A dismal one out of ten. Spelt my name right, I think. Doesn't matter much as my passport's been confiscated anyway. Why do English Football fans always get the blame for everything? I did not nut that kraut during the World Cup, but whose story did they believe? That's British justice for you.
  11. Not a particularly good idea if they clone someone like me. Don't be stupid, how can that statement affect my parole?
  12. Rehabilitation for ex-cons club. Pupils expelled from school club - the cane didn't do me any harm, despite what my social workers say. I'm Thicker Than You Club. Brightside & Carbrook knitting & crochet club. Conservative Party, obviously. and, finally, The 'Do I look like a pratt just because I've got Chupa Chups on the front of my shirt?' club.
  13. As a football fan, I have to say the entire England rugby thing gave us footie fans a real showing up. Quite apart from fans who actually behave themselves and are a credit to their country rather than an embarrassment, it made a change to see players getting on with the game, respecting the referee and not whining or questioning his decision every two minutes Also all the players interviewed came across as humble gentleman rather than spoiled, over-paid prima donnas. I hope football learns something from this, but I doubt it somehow. Sports Personality of the Year? May as well give Wilko the award now.
  14. Absolutely! Every time I see that bloke on TV I think to myself 'Hell, that nutter could order a pre-emptive strike on my council estate any time'. Scary or what!!
  15. Not sure if you mean I've got a low IQ or not, but I can't disagree with you there. I cartainly have got a low IQ, but then I was made for sh**ging and not studying. Think you're being rather unfair to t020 though.
