  1. Is there any way to display and print the whole of each to-do item, rather than just a single line? Thanks
  2. Thanks - this would certainly work, but i still think there should be a more elegant way of doing this!!
  3. I have a pivot table that looks like this. To make it look better, how can I remove the cells I've highlighted. I can't just remove the first row, as it returns an error saying doing so will affect the whole pivot table. I think it must be a Display setting, but I can't see it. Count of ID code Column Labels Row Labels April May TOTAL Apples 49 9 58 Oranges 8 3 11 Pears 28 30 58 TOTAL 85 42 127 Thanks
  4. Leftover from a pointing job. Is it any use to anyone? Free to a good home! Collect Sheffield 6
  5. Left over from a pointing job. Free to a good home!
  6. Thanks both. HallamGirl - thanks for the explanatory details; I am familiar with the $ symbol but the rest I was struggling with!
  7. Thanks - yes, I've emailed them, The ticket does say that the 14 day 'discount' is re-offered if an appeal is turned down (though this isn't really an appeal as the ticket itself was correctly issued). I'll probably pay the fine in another way (and make sure I keep the receipt!) and this should close the matter so far as I'm concerned, but the Council need to know their system isn't working correctly.
  8. I received a PCN yesterday which was correctly issued an I am willing to pay it. I've gone on the Council website today to do so and found that that when I enter the PCN number and registration number, the details shown are incorrect and do not match those on the ticket left on my car. The website shows a parking offence on a different date in a different location with a different amount of fine owing. If I clock on the map tab of the website it shows the correct street where I parked, but if I then click to see the photo evidence, the photo is of a different car. Has anyone else had this experience? I've tried to ring the Council to speak to someone about this, but gave up after being kept on hold for an eternity....
  9. Hi I have a spreadsheet as below: A B C ID Name Service users 1 Fred Smith 10 17 Joe Jones 16 27 Jane Brown 2 50 Susan White 17 24 3 Column A shows the unique ID and the name of a subset of people registered with my service Column C is a list of ID number of people I know have actually used the service within a particular period. So I now want to know which of the named users have actually used the service in the period in question. (So just looking at the data I can see that only Joe Jones did, because only his ID number appears in column C.) So I want to end up with: A B C D ID Name Service users Used Service? 1 Fred Smith 10 No 17 Joe Jones 16 Yes 27 Jane Brown 2 No 50 Susan White 17 No 24 3 I know VLOOKUOP is the way to do this but I'm struggling getting the formula right to go in column D - can anyone help? I realise I might need to re-order column... Many thanks
  10. I have a large quantity of data on my Mac. I back uo onto hard drives but they are not hugely reliable. What is the best online backup option? iCloud or something else? Thanks
  11. I have a spreadsheet in which cell A1 has the value 3 and A2 has the value 9. I want another cell to look like this: The value 3.3% is the result If I type into the cell: ="The value "& A2/A3 & "is the result" This displays as: The value 3.33333333 is the result Is it possible to have a formatted value within the expression? Thanks
  12. Thanks but I get the same result whichever browser I use
  13. My partner has forgotten her password on her VM email and needs to reset it. The main VM account is in my name, and her email address is on that account. I have gone to the sign in page and clicked 'forgotten password' I am then asked to complete security details- date of birth and town where born. I'm 100% sure I entered these details correctly. Clicking Continue then just refreshes the same page and presents me with the same questions (with my answers showing) and I can't move on from this. What should I try next?
  14. I've been given an older Mac mini which I want to use because the most modern OS won;'t run the particular software I need. Can I use my iMac 24" as a monitor for the Mini? Thanks
  15. My household has two VM V6 boxes. If I give up one of them to save on the monthly cost, Will VVM actually ask for the box back? And if not, will I still be able to access the old recrodings on it (although obviously not view new content). Thanks
  16. My organsaition wants to employ a temp office person for a month or so - any recommendations for which agencies to approach? I'm envisaging having the agency employ the person and we just pay a fee to th agency rather than employing the person directly. Any recommendations?
  17. I have just connected my HP Scanjet 300 scanner into my new iMac and got this message: "HP Scanner 2” will damage your computer. This file was downloaded on an unknown date. The canner worked fine with my older Mac. Is there really a signifcant risk in using the scanner on my new Mac?
  18. Thanks dan2802 - but this links to a number of models- do you think any will do the job?
  19. I have a Virginmedia 3.0 hub in my attic. I now need the network to extend to the cellar due to the installation of a new boiler which has a wifi controller. I think VM would charge a monthly fee for their boosters. Can I just buy pretty well any boosters online and they will work? I don't need any extra features, just to be able to get wifi into my cellar. It is not practicable to move the router or create any sort of ethernet connection. Thanks
  20. Is anyone travelling to Manchester regularly? Are the trains really quiet at the moment? Thanks
  21. I'm not sure I like the styling that much myself - presumably it has changed so much because Jonny Ive has left - but would like to see them in the flesh, as it were. I'm aware you can't get one till later the month, but thought maybe the Shop had some you could look at.
  22. Had my question been: "How do I contact the Apple shop at Meadowhall in order to find out if they have new iMacs on display?", then your answer would have been excellent.
