  1. My understanding is that the Galaxy uses the RFS system instead which causes the lag that lots of people see. For me it wasn't TouchWiz, because I switched to launcher pro. Its quite easy to apply one of the fixes (details over at xda forums), but even after than I still find the HTC more useable than the Galaxy day to day. Both are good handsets - if you can live with, or work round the lag on the GS it has a great screen, loads of space to install apps, and its better for games (Angry Birds is certainly smoother on the GS than the Desire).
  2. Having owned a Galaxy S, and now a Desire, the Desire is far and away the better product. It might not have the 4 inch Super Amoled Screen or Internal Storage, but its far smoother to operate than the Galaxy. Samsung have created a problem by using a different file system that causes the phone to develop a terrible lag - they are also very slow to bring out OS updates.
  3. Old Tech? The HTC Desire HD is a brand new top of the range model - you can get it on a £25 a month deal - http://www.mobiles.co.uk/htc-desire-hd.html
  4. Thanks - I didn't know this either - downloading now
  5. Is this how Andy Gray is spending his time now? Troll!
  6. I don't see how it matters whether it was live or not - they were caught out expressing bigotted views and its right that they should be punished. This makes interesting reading about the sexist culture that exists at Sky Sports. However they work for a channel that runs a 'soccerrette' feature every week on a Saturday morning, where teenage girls are invited on to Soccer AM to parade around in hotpants and tight t shirts in front of a gang of whooping idiots, while a camera slowly pans across their legs, crotch and chest. Why is that acceptable?
  7. Removed - failed to read post properly.
  8. I would recommend this one http://www.ebuyer.com/product/252990
  9. You've got loads of stuff loading on startup that you don't need. You can disable the Adobe stuff, Bit Torrent, Quicktime, The Divx Stuff, Nero CHeck, Java Quickstart, Tom Tom Home, Steam, Skype.... none of these need to run at startup. Ccleaner includes an easy way to manage startup items - you can just disable them in there. You've got at least 3 spyware programs on there - I'm not sure its worth it - I'd get rid of Spybot at least - and maybe superantispyware too. AVG and Malwarebytes will be enough. You also have Rapport on there - I've always found it to be a resource hog, and it probably clashes with all the other antimalware stuff you have running too. Probably a good idea to update your IE to 8 too.
  10. Looks like better battery and camera - see here for comparison http://www.phonegg.com/compare/27/BlackBerry-9700-vs-BlackBerry-9780.html
  11. http://www.7-zip.org/ is another good one
  12. Another thread about the same thing here http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=706169&highlight=word+free Summary - get Open Office instead - its a free alternative.
  13. Just ran EASUS - worked a treat. Shrank C and Expanded D, no loss of data. It took about an hour and half from start to finish.
  14. Cheers - I'll try EASUS I think the built in one on Windows 7 destroys the data.
