  1. Hi folks, Having just thrown away the 4 disgusting barrels that were left by the previous tenant of my allotment, I'm now looking to replace them. Does anyone know of somewhere I can buy cheap water butts or plastic barrels in Sheffield? I'm planning on linking maybe 4 of them together and putting some guttering up to collect the water. Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks!
  2. Eek, I hadn't realised my thread had sparked such a discussion! Thanks for all the useful information from everyone though, and the above link to Storrs, I may well have to visit them once I'm up and running and ready for my new chickens.
  3. Ah right thank you very much! I'd not found that guide yet. Very helpful!
  4. Me and my boyfriend have just been offered a plot on the Meersbrook site, and are keen to use some of the space to keep chickens. Does anyone know if we're allowed to keep chickens on this site?
  5. There are still some stalls available for our evening, for those of you who are interested! Lou2 - I'll PM you with further details of the night.
  6. The Escafeld Brass Band is holding a Grand Christmas Concert and craft fair on the evening of the 9th December, to raise money for St Luke's Hospice. It is taking place at St Andrews United Reform church, on Upper Hanover Street. The evening will consist of brass music in one room, and craft stalls and acoustic music in another room. We're currently looking for stallholders to take part in the craft fair. Tables are £10 each. We're looking for a good variety of products, so it will be on a first come first served basis. Message me if interested.
  7. Well thanks for your feedback everyone! I guess it has made clear to me that what I want to open isn't called a craft shop but a gift shop. A gift shop that only sells quality hand-crafted gifts, mostly by people from the local area. I like the ethical status of evolution, but still find that while there is a lot of nice stuff in there, it's somehow not of the same calibre as what I'd like to stock. Any thoughts on this?
  8. Are there still available? I may be interested in taking them off your hands
  9. My facebook page for re-crafts is: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Re-crafts-by-brownie/162957060401944 Thanks for looking!
  10. Hello Sheffield crafters, I'm currently thinking about possibly starting about a craft shop somewhere in Sheffield but want to get some feedback from people before rushing into anything. Is there anyone out there who has set up their own business in this area? I'd love to hear some feedback and advice!
  11. Hi everyone, I also have a Folksy shop: http://folksy.com/shops/recrafts Have only sold one item so far, but it's nice watching how many people have looked at the site, and favourited my items.
  12. Below is the link to my facebook page where you can find photos of my current project: re-crafts by brownie. The concept is to go round charity shops, find unwanted items and turn them into unique items. I work with ceramics, glassware and textiles, basically anything goes! I'd love to hear some feedback on what people think. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Re-crafts-by-brownie/162957060401944 Take a look!
  13. Anyone else think Laura has got to go?? She's like a whingey child!
  14. I would also suggest the Clay Oven. Slightly biased because it's just round the corner from my house, but always really friendly service, and really tasty food. Plus they've got some pretty cool artwork up at the mo from a local painter so that's worth a look.
  15. You may not be interested in this sort of thing, but I have just made two sets of napkin ring holders out of the inserts from bras! you know the kind of oval shaped things that you can put in to boost things up a bit?? Basically I fold the two pointy ends together, sew them, and then add a button or sequin or something over the seam. They work really well and are a bit different...not to mention a talking point! I'd post pictures but don't think I'm allowed yet as not posted enough times.
  16. MRoberts, I'm loving the jewellry! Very intruiged by the purple stars....what have you made those from??
