  1. Hello there, we have a huuuuuge privet that borders our garden and our neighbours. It is about 9 ft right now, maybe higher so needs a serious cut back. I was wondering what roughly this might cost and if there are any gardeners out there who could help me out and remove the waste as well? We are in Crookes (Cross Lane) S10
  2. Hello there! I am wondering about childminders in the s10 area? Right now I need Monday 22nd for the morning as I am working at Tapton school, and Friday 26th (also the morning) from the same school. I need to be in school by 8.30 so pick up, or drop off would have to be around 8.30 at the latest and will finish around 1. After this I will need 1 day a week minimum to be arranged with work in advance. If you could help, or know anyone who could that would be fab. Tried childcare.co.uk, but not getting much luck finding anyone local to Crookes/Crosspool. I do not have a car so getting to people further afield is proving to be difficult with the school timings.
  3. Is anyone else super excited to see this! I keep wandering past hoping for more updates!
  4. My now hubby (Who is now far more clued up on cooking) decided he could make a Full English fried breakfast flavoured scrambled eggs, by putting all the ingredients in the blender, including the toast. Result... Broken blender, lots of shouting and he learned never to "experiment" again.
  5. What is wrong with M&S? They do nice underwear! =D
  6. I remember it being Freshers week back in 2003 when I was there as well... Strange you have not heard the term. It is usually splattered over the sides of the University Buildings.
  7. Yey! I still love the students being here. Sheffield seems so quiet without them! Although I have noticed there are far less of them up Crookes way since Tapton dorms closed down. I might even get some new neighbours! =D They usually pop over for can openers at some point.
  8. This post makes me happy! I had a similar thing recently after leaving my wallet, with 20 quid in it, on the bus. They handed it to the driver, and when I caught the bus going the other way they had the wallet and all the money was still there. Thankyou Sheffield!
  9. We bought our 10 year old Focus, for 1k, and it has lasted us with no work, and passing its MOT's like a dream for 5 years! I would do some research, and even look on the roads. Volvos are the classic if you want an old car that will not fall apart! ---------- Post added 05-07-2013 at 12:27 ---------- If you do not see many of the model you want to buy on the roads anymore, there is probably a reason.
  10. To sum up, girl finds a king in a shrubbery. If you keep watching with equal comedy value it is a fantastic little series. To be fair, jokes aside it is an interesting look into what English history could have been. The Woodvilles end up being the family who start the dynasty of the Tudors. Fitting that Cromwell from that series is in it.
  11. Hey all, I am just posting as my youngest cat, Ronnie, has not returned for 2 days now. He is prone to wandering and always looses his collar so I am just checking no-one has picked him up? He is microchipped and normally wears a green collar, but he is very adept at removing it. He is black with white markings, and a grey patch of fur coming through between his shoulders. His nose is pink, with 4 white feet and white chest area. Any info would be appreciated! I am just hoping he hasn't been run over! He is 8 years old, (we have had him since he was 2) and a rescue, which is why I let him out. The cat shelter said he would never be a happy indoor cat and they were correct! I am just hoping someone could contact me with information. ---------- Post added 05-07-2013 at 12:25 ---------- Found him!

MP attempts to survive on £18 a week. I wish more MP's would give this a go.
  13. That is not what I am saying at all! I am just finding it hard to comprehend that, when I did call the job centre once, I was told the only way to get any support if I was struggling with money, was to move out and not live with my spouse. Despite the fact at that point the pair of us were on 80 a week between us. It should never be the case that because you work, even part time, you are refused help. That was my point. Give less but give that little to those who need it. Rather than handing it out constantly to those who refuse to work and are still on 4 times as much.
  14. I have driven in Holland, and here, as my family is over there. I disagree with the notion the driving over here is poor! In Holland people just do not look when changing lanes on the motorway! And because the roads are generally straight the number of people using their mobiles seems higher. That is just from what I have seen though. Learning to drive on roads like Snake Pass teach you a lot of respect for the lay of the road, and position on the road. ---------- Post added 02-04-2013 at 16:14 ---------- However... we do have the worst roads over here. The infrastructure is awful!
  15. I just resent the fact I love teaching, but right now would be better off out of a marriage and out of a job, when it comes to money. That just feels horribly wrong to me!
