Watching Spitfire Restoration on 4 reminded me of three Crookes lads being on the local news back in the sixties starting a similar venture. Does anyone know what happened to them or whether they succeeded?

Long long ago back when I was at school two Crookes lads were on Look North rebuilding a WW11 Spitfire. Does anyone remember it and how they went on, were they successful? I think one lived on Brighton Terrace Road and one on Springvale.

So sad to hear Bob Lee had died he and Dave Packer were instrumental in getting John Higgins to Florida. Will always be indebted to them for all their help, top men!!!!!!!!

Sad to report the passing of Gill Taylor daughter of Keith Taylor(WHO DIED LAST YEAR) She never really recovered from being knocked down on a Zebra crossing and looked very frail when i saw her last year. No details as to how she died unfortunately.

No it cost me a lot of money in 1985 as an investment for my kids and yes it can be sold all rights retained for life while ever the club exists,whoever the owner is.

If like me you are one of the few remaining shareholders that didn`t know.Your shares no longer exist but you are still entitled to your free season tickets.If the club cannot contact you by phone they are quite happy to leave you in ignorance,i have seen the list of people still to claim there rights.Mr. Mandaric is obviously not going to publicise the fact that 3 season tickets are waiting for you to pick up from the ticket office.You would be mad not to:loopy:

Worked in the brewery till it shut,Find it very sad that all we seem to do is hear how someone else has passed away!This year we have said goodbye to some real characters-Big Barrie,Winnie and Gary Cahill.All sadly missed. Menzo:headbang:
