  1. Thanks to everyone who replied! What are the problems people have had with Evan Halshaw then?
  2. Hi, I'm looking to buy a second ahnd Citreon and went to Evan Halshaw, but accidentally wandered into the Renault part of it. The Renault salesperson tried very hard to get me to buy a Renault instead, and said something about Citreons needing a new filter every 50,000 miles which costs about £800 to £1000. I took everything he said with a pinch of salt, but I did wonder if this is true. Does anyone know? And if so, do you know the exact name of the filter so that I can check to see if any car I might buy has recently had one fitted. I'm thinking of getting a Xsara Picasso by the way. Thanks.
  3. I went there for lunch today and it was pretty good. The food was very well cooked and nicely presented and the menu was quite broad. I would definately recommend it.
  4. I really don't like the way a thread about people's prejudice about what someone wears has become prejudicial about folks' religious beliefs. There are a number of posts here that seem to think that while it's obviously wrong to slate someone for how they dress, it's perfectly ok to mock people as "nutters" because of their Christian beliefs! Not a single Christian has come out in support of what carbooter10 has said so don't tar us all with the same brush thanks.
  5. I need someone to come out once a week for the next few months as I'm temporarily unable to do it myself for health reasons.
  6. I'm looking for someone who can come out to clean a 2 bedroomed flat in S10. Can you recommend someone?
  7. Part of being a Christian is to spread the word about Jesus. As a new Christian I find this very difficult - people think you're a nut (as per one or two of the posts above). At Christchurch Fulwood they recognise this difficulty so run a few guest services so that it makes it easy for us to say to our non Christian friends "hey, there's a guest service this Sunday, why not come along?", without sounding all Ned Flanders about it. Of course, all services are open to everyone at any time - there's no question of anyone being vetted. And it isn't easy for us to follow up if you do come along because we risk you hiding behind the sofa every time we call round if it wasn't your scene! I've been going to Fulwood for a few months now and I find it really interesting and stimulating and not at all like the boring, stuffy church services I remember being dragged to as a child. I've found everyone there to be warm and friendly.
  8. Hi, I'm getting married in August in S10. We are only having 19 guests so it's a small, low-key do. We're looking for a photographer who could come out after the service for half an hour and take a few digital pics. From a few enquiries it seems most professional photographers aren't bothered with such small fry. They charge for 4+ hours and take loads of arty photos and bung them all in an album. We just want someone to come out for a little while so that they can organise our relatives and so we can have a pic with all the congregation on. If anyone knows of someone who might be interestred I'd be very grateful.
  9. Thanks everyone. I went and it was great The venue was a pit though
  10. I think that The Briefs are playing DnR Live tomorrow but I can't find out anything about it. The DnR Live website is hopeless - it doesn't list any gigs or say where the venue is. Can someone tell please me a) Whether The Briefs are indeed playing there tomorrow and b) Where the venue actually is! Also, if anyone knows a contact for this so I can check supports, running order etc that would be helpful.

  12. Size of A Cow is this Friday at Fusion at Sheffield Uni. Tickets are from the Uni Box Office on the night or in advance and you don't need to be a student to get in. I think Brighton Beach is also at the same venue, temporarily, while they do up the City Hall
  13. Offbeat in sheffield have also been running an annual Smiths/Morrissey night (run by the same people who do Size of A Cow). The next one is coming up, actually, on 13 May. Their playlist is a bit broader than the Manchester night because they play about 15 Smiths/Moz tracks and loads of other stuff from the era like Wedding present and Pixies etc. Details are at http://www.offbeatsheffield.com
  14. Some went from a municipal plant area in Crosspool - a sign went up to say they'd call the police!
