  1. Hi Dean, I was wondering if I could talk to you for more information and take an interview. I'm a journalism student at the University of Sheffield. I wanted to send you a personal message with details but I'm a new user and don't have five posts yet to be able to send a personal message. I hope to hear from you soon. Best Regards Richa
  2. Dear Forum, I read your message. Though there is nothing anyone can do about this..not me ,not you..I'm definitely there to listen.. I loved the line..''too beautiful for the earth''...yes Indeed!! What else can be reasnable enough to explain the loss of someone so tiny and innocent. I feel for you. I am sure that you'll have better days. I wish you the best !!
  3. Hello Dean. This is one of the most interesting and ambitious projects I have come across. I guess I'll stop cribbing about having to esearch for my exam after having read of the amount of time and effort you have been putting into this. Anyways, I am a student of M.A broadcast journalism and I have been researching various topics to create news bulletins. I barely know anything about Sheffield or UK as I'm from India. One of the topics that had crossed my mind was to see the impact of WW1 on Sheffield, and unexpectedly I came across your thread. My emphasis is people and their stories. I really like what you are doing and I think it would be great to know more about you. Will you be alright with letting me know more about you? Thank you very much. Best Regards Richa
  4. I'm new to this forum, and new to Sheffield and the UK. But this sounds so interesting. I read almost all the posts, and they made me feel nostalgic thinking about all the gypsies that went around our house in India. They had the most interesting things to sell. salted tamarind, guavas, mirrors, colourful stones. I wish I saw them, its been ages. I guess I last saw them when I was 12-13. Anyways, is it possible to find the gypsies, or the french onion sellers, or the knife sharpners here now?? Just out of curiosity.
  5. Wanted stories about people who have done something different. It can be anything really. An unusual hobby, or an experience to tell the world, an extraordinary journey, or simply a heart warming anecdote. I'm a journalism student at the University of Sheffield and am looking forward to meet people and know about what is important to them and what do their lives signify. I am new to UK. So would really appreciate any advice/suggestion, anything that you think is newsworthy and exciting... Hope to hear from you guys soon :-)
