  1. GET READY FOR TONIGHT BOYS AND GIRLS THE OH SO SENSUAL wAVe IS HERE! BRINGING YOU CUTTING EDGE AUDIO-VISUAL FEAT. ZAN LYONS, SCAN ONE, ORIGAMIBIRO AND BLOODSPORT PLUS MUSIC CONTINUED IN THE AFTERPARTY
  2. Go on this Facebook link for news and information about wAVe's afterparty http://www.facebook.com/events/215322318580884/?ref=ts
  3. Sheffield Art Forge presents: wAVe A pure audio visual experience. This will be the first edition of a brand new audio-visual event in Sheffield. We will have some of the finest audio-visual practitioners we can find performing for an immersive experience of the highest quality. This edition will be part of Sheffield's very own Sensoria Festival, but expect more events to occur later on in the year. The main event will run from 6pm until midnight and following on from this will be a very special after party running into the early hours for those of you clad with dancing shoes. ---------------------Confirmed Acts----------------------- Zan Lyons vs Bladerunner AV: One of the most distinctive audio/visual performers to date, violinist, producer and film-maker Zan Lyons' stunning shows have received critical acclaim across the globe. Explosive beats collide with melancholic concertos. Using his laptop and custom foot pedals, Zan loops his violin, voice and sounds - while manipulating his haunting visuals to incredible effect. For wAVe, Zan will be reimagining the seminal sci-fi behemoth, Bladerunner. This dramatic reworking of Ridley Scott's classic sees Zan re-score and remix entire scenes from the film - splicing in his own visuals in the process. Scanone: Perhaps best known for his work with Combat Recordings and as label boss of Yellow Machines, Jude Greenaway aka Scanone is a London-based producer, DJ and AV artist who has been producing, performing and releasing music for well over a decade. In that time he has managed to develop a sound that skirts around the lunatic fringes of a myriad of underground genres, from bass-heavy electronics to glitched-up cinematic IDM. For this performance he will be showcasing some fresh new material from his forthcoming DVD compilation and new unheard cinematic audio visual works. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrAmorYgKxo Origamibiro: Experimental audio-visual collective, Origamibiro will be performing at wAVe to mark the release of their new album, Shakkei. The collaborative trio merge found objects, unorthodox contraptions, multi instrumentalism and persistence of vision to create an atmosphere both nostalgic and otherworldly. Together, musicians and producers Tom Hill and Andy Tytherleigh and video artist The Joy of Box make connections between seemingly unrelated elements and create a world that plays the scale of human emotions. With atmosphere oozing from their fingertips, it's no wonder the Dublin Fringe Festival described Origamibiro as "undoubtedly the most original offering of the fringe calendar" Blood Sport: Sheffield band Blood Sport will be coming out of hibernation for wAVe with a brand new set. A heady mix of post punk, noise rock and afrobeat will provide a live soundtrack to a new film from local film maker, Guywuy. Expect sprawling psychedelia matched with swirling visuals. Following on from wAVe will be a special afterparty in the CADS basement going on late into the night. + special guests ---------------------------------------------------------- Creative Arts Development Space Sheffield Date: 28/4/12 - 29/4/12 Main event: 18:00 - 00:00 Afterparty 00:00 - 6:00 Tickets: £10adv Tickets on sale here: http://www.residentadvisor.net/event.aspx?350519 Powered by Danger Noise Audio

  5. DLS parties once again bring you the exclusive Techno and House event of your dirtiest dreams! Dirty Little Secret is kicking off the action with Club night ‘Collect!’ on the 8th October in the Snow Lane Rooms. Amongst the mayhem, we welcome on this fine occasion Paris based Rex Club resident and Skryptom label boss Electric Rescue. Here at Collect! HQ we like to treat our booking like our record collection, with the aim of finely balancing outright party mayhem with musical integrity. Electric Rescue fits the bill perfectly. A fact backed up by releases on labels sharing the same ethos - Cocoon, BNR Trax (Boys Noize Records), Sci+Tec, Rekluse and Sleaze - The list goes on and on! Also making his Collect! debut is Louche resident Tom Frank. After hearing him tear chunks out of the Wire Club last week, we wasted no time inviting him down to do the same at Snow Lane before a Collect! crowd. Last but certainly not least, we have a second room hosted by Sheffield institution Cargo, for whom we have much love. Gracing their decks will be Growmore, Kassien and Dan J. Collect will reside in the spacious Snow Lane rooms for the first time this October after opening the DLS venue almost exactly one year ago. We look forward to another blistering party like only the Collect/DLS combo seems to create. Come and help us celebrate a full year of DLS parties with the best crowd in the North. 10. In August CADS will be proud to be hosting an exhibition introducing the Globalsapiens collective. In their own words: Globalsapiens: an introduction to Parallel Paranoia, Humans In Cages and Silently Chained - the respective alternate names for artistic collective Mikk Murray, John Ledger and Jade Morris. Alternate names that speak of lifestyles that they know are destructive to the planet and most often self-destructive, whilst trying to find cracks in which to get out and make a change. This exhibition aims to resonate with all those who care but feel trapped and helpless to make a change, and possibly then inspire them to believe that they need not be this way. Opening event will occur on August 19th from 7pm. The show will run until September 2nd. Entry free, of course.
