  1. Depends which room. We live in a very quiet area and I only have the lamp on in the living room, can't stand bright light in there; that's where I relax, so I usually leave the blinds open. Everywhere else, they're closed when it gets dark.
  2. Cats really shouldn't be on an all dry diet, they're not like dogs and it isn't good for them. Cats don't drink nearly enough water so they might not be getting enough hydration. ---------- Post added 11-11-2013 at 11:38 ---------- "Why Your Cat's Food Should Be Loaded with Moisture Water is essential for all life forms. Your cat doesn't have a strong thirst drive compared to other species. Kitties are designed to get almost all the water they need from the food they eat. Healthy cats don't lap up water like other animals do. Many kitties are obsessed with moving water, of course, but they're more interested in watching it or playing in it than drinking it. With very few exceptions, only cats with underlying disease will drink a lot of water. Often the disease involves their lower urinary tract, especially if they are suffering from chronic, moderate dehydration thanks to a primarily dry food diet. Cats in the wild hunt prey, and prey consists of about 75 percent water. Canned cat food contains at least that much moisture. Dry food, on the other hand, contains only about one tenth of that amount. If you're feeding your kitty mostly dry food, he's probably drinking more water than he would if his diet was high in moisture content. But as a general rule, cats on dry food diets consume only about half the water cats on moisture-rich diets consume. Now think for a minute about your cat's lower urinary tract – specifically the bladder and kidneys, which need to be flushed constantly with adequate quantities of urine. It's easy to imagine the growing stress on those vital organs when your kitty's body is operating on half the amount of water it requires to function normally – day in and day out, for months, years, or a lifetime."
  3. Bluefeline, what a crafty little get! Mine were getting 2 pouches a day each but I found them to be seemingly constantly hungry and scavenging. Now they have 3 pouches a day each and... are exactly the same! I've considered upping it another pouch, but I'm worming them first to see if that may be the problem, if not I'll feed them a bit more and watch their weight. I presume kitties are like humans and some may have higher metabolisms than others, so as long as they're not getting fat I've no problem giving them more food. Oh and they always get some our food at meal times, of course!
  4. Pray tell where I said that? I said I hope they're now being monitored so that they can get caught with real child porn.
  5. It's an award-winning, underrated little place.
  6. Well if law enforcement agencies are going to be monitoring these peoples' computers from now on, I can't see how it was a waste of time. It's hardly going to be one-off behaviour for them and next time they'll get caught with genuine child-porn. Paedophilia can be progressive, like many other sick fantasies; just because they're looking at children on the internet, that doesn't mean they're LIMITING themselves to that, they could still be down the park beating off to small children.
  7. Yep, waiting to coincide it with the release of Star Wars Episode VII, unfortunately.
  8. The new Battlefront is being developed by the guys who also do the Battlefield series. No official release date yet but think they're aiming for 2014/15. Anyone else looking forward to this? It should have been here years ago I would have thought, with the success of Battlefront 2; the game that first got me into FPS. The downside appears to be that it'll only be available for the newer consoles: PS4, XBONE etc., which means I'll have to switch to Sony as no way I'm buying the XBONE.
  9. Thanks everyone, I'll let you know if I survive the next couple of days.
  10. Well we've turned the power back on now. Both sockets had a plug in so don't think too much will have gotten inside (hopefully). I might leave it 2 days to dry out and then start using them again. Thanks.
  11. Do I need to call an electrician out just to be on the safe side or can I just deal with it myself? It tripped the breaker and electrics are all out. Can I just leave that particular socket switched off and unplugged and then turn the power back on? How long until I can use that socket again? Stupid cat!
  12. Thank you to Leepy, handyman on here, he arrived very quickly, did exactly what I asked for and at a very reasonable price.
  13. The right, always, because it's nearest to the door and I'm always up first.
  14. Yeah, I suppose people only really do it when purchasing via ebay.
  15. AFAIK, if the sender marks the product as a gift you don't have to pay the customs charges, unless things have changed recently.
  16. There's a post office inside Castle House as well, no?
  17. The Wee Man - true story of the rise of Glaswegian gangster Paul Ferris. 8/10 Alex Cross - 7/10
  18. Ah yes, of course! I completely forgot about the comics. I think I'm still reeling from Breaking Bad and need a reset.
