Maybe but if i cycle in the middle of the road I just get beeped at my cars that are impatient and want to overtake so that they can get to the traffic lights quicker.

Look, I just need to set the record right I don't think that pesdestrains will be fined. i was trying to prove a point. However if a pesdestrian is knocked over whilst they are walking in a cycle lane then can not blame the cyclist (or sue them more importantly)

There is a new fine that comes into effect as of next week. If you are found riding on the pavement you will be fined £30. I fully support this rule, however you may have realised that city council 'cycle paths' don't join up to the roads, or even the bike parks. I work at Sheffield hallam in the town centre and the road ends and then there is a 3 meter gap before the cycle path starts on the pesdestrian area. I have now been told that i have to dismount, walk my bike 3 meters and then start riding again. I think that this is just stupid. I don't want to ride on the pavment but if there are no cycle paths then I don't know what to do. So watch out for City Centre Ambas***tards, or just cycle away, (or get off your cycle and run with it) when they try to approach you. they will be issuing you with a £30 fine. Also if pedestrains walk in a cycle lane they may well get fined!

I had my bike covered on my parents house insurance! strange but true. I think maybe now that I am not a student any more it doesn't count. Bike insurance is hard to get because bikes get stolen so requlary, however do look into house insurance stuff.

Gosh, I am a cyclist and that is a long way to go. You really want to avoid that MASSIVE hill from penistone road up to the traffic lights. I suggest you go into town then out again?
