It is estimated that more than 150 women have acid thrown on them every year and many never get justice.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-17780153

If you are squeamish, don't watch the video report, truly shocking!

We have a large Pakistani community who all seem to have strong connections with Pakistan, how can educated brits not influence this despicable routine practice...?
-
That's simply nonsense.Â
-
A couple of years ago I went on a CBT course. It was mostly full of benefit claimants. Towards the end an advisor from the job centre came in to talk to each individually. The lady asked all leading questions, one being, "I know you won't want to work because it's not worth it money wise, you're better off on the dole", "No love I work hard running my own little business", but she was telling them how to play the system, no wonder they didn't think work was a good idea!
-
Surely these 'poor' 'men' should go to the rich areas to do their crimes?
Â
Â
Also, nowhere does it mention education, drugs or parents... (only read quote)
-
Are you alowed to say that on here, it implies that "white" is the colour of honesty and fairness? You'll have the wrath of the left wing loonies after you. Tut tut, totally none PC....Â
LOL, it made me look at the link, wasn't what I expected either...
-
Oh I'm definitely special alright!Â
Â
I think you also need to read what centrist means again, then you might understand why I'm not describing myself as a centrist.Â
hmmm, seems i'm rather special too!
-
Never said I was. All I'm saying is that I can't be pigeon holed into one or two groups within the spectrum.Â
That's what I thought, but supposedly you get to be in the centrist pidgin hole
Â
Â
Â
Also, earlier I used the word "unique", I meant special!
-
As I said earlier I have elements from right across the political spectrum meaning that my politics is fluid and can't be fixed into a one dimensional system as you're attempting to do.I never claimed to be unique, I claimed to be politically independent of which there are many who think likewise.
Â
It's not my system, it's just the different groupings of stances on various subjects. And since you state that your views are from within the spectrum, then you are not outside the spectrum.
-
Not who is nature, that refers to "human". But what is nature, as that has been around longer than humans need to label and understand things....
Â
It's you who is referring to nature as having knowledge. Gaia Theory looks at the planet Earth as a system like you sort of described, you should read up.
Â
Â
Mankind is continuously chasing after knowledge that nature already knows, ...Â
Mankind is part of the natural world!
-
But in your definition an anarchist is anti authoritarian but as I'm clearly not anti authoritarian how can I even sound like an anarchist? I've already told what I am politically, an independent but you seem to have trouble in accepting people who don't fit into your narrowly defined little political boxes. Very unprogressive attitude me thinks spooky.Â
LOL, as you said earlier you have elements from various areas, that doesn't mean you are unique and don't fit on the scale of opinion types.

No, i abhor drug users, scum of society.Possession of cannabis should see a life sentence, imo.
Â
Do you believe in god?

The assumption to power of the taliban is raising the prospect of a major failure of Western policy after a costly war.
Â
Presented differently you'd say that was the military trying to get more money for the campaign...
-
On what grounds?Â
Even the Americans are beginning to concede it's inevitable:

Â
It's a fact that coalition troops are leaving, it's naive to assume the taliban won't step into the vacuum, Afghanistan is effectively a country with large lawless areas.
Â
From that it sounds like they've been invaded by Pakistan!
-
Yes, but the rattling symptoms are never seen are they as they can afford a regular supply.Â
Are you a crack head?
-
Sorry but I can't see any anti authoritarianism in my last comment.....just a more democratic, egalitarian form of authoritarianism.Â
You fit in there somewhere.
Â
Â
BTW I didn't call you an Anarchist, I said you sound like one!
-
Yes, without exception, you know it and i know it, but being as you're a spliffer yourself you wont admit it.Â
How many politicians have admitted to trying cannabis?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_British_politicians_who_admit_to_cannabis_use
Â
Are you accusing all of them of being crack eds?
-
207 innocent civilians killed by the US-led forces last year.Â
Stick to the topic!
-
I don't believe any of that. So how do women in Afghanistan see the Taliban? If you're an expert...Â
-
As someone with a relative who's done two tours of Afghanistan I'd support the British army. The point which eludes you is that if I were an Afghan farmer ruled by a narco-despot whose corruption is rampant I might think differently. Whether you like it or not for many Afghans the Taliban are a least-worst option.Â
Only because they get paid by drug producers and are terrorised into conforming.
-
They sound like good all round good guys. Would you support them or the British army in a conflict?Â
Past record states a big NO!
-
You're being silly. It's a valid point. Doubtless there are those in Afghanistan who welcome the presence of the allied forces, but there are many many people who have been killed by them. By no means all of them are in any way combatants and many have been women and children.Â
To point this out is not anti-west, nor is it pro-terrorist. It's simply acknowledging that there is a great deal of grief and suffering on both sides of the conflict.
Â
Our bombs and bullets destroy lives and create widows and orphans as surely as theirs do. That's the truth, that's the reality.
Â
No it wasn't a valid comparison (especially the one sided way you described it) and a totally different question to the thread.
-
What a great idea! Let us get to a zero crime rate simply by legalising everything! Hard drugs, rape, murder, incest , child pornography....just legalise the lot!......We shall soon see a crime free country that way!Â
You think that's a great idea, you are insane! What a twisted mind
-
Exactly. But i supose those horrific murders will be looked on as an "unfortunate side effect of war". Just like all the civilians that the drones keep wasting.
Â
And all the civilians murdered by the Taliban, or even the school full of little girls purposefully poisoned!
-
Ok, leave the Taliban out of it. If an occupying force was occupying the UK and had caused the deaths of thousands of men women and children (many innocent of anything other than going about their lives peacefully) would you acquiesce and accept accept it or would you support an armed resistance?Â
Start a new thread... and describe it properly!!!
Can we influence Pakistan?

That's serious corruption if they can get away with things like this.
