  1. does the washing machine require a sacrifice in the form of one sock in order to wash a load ?
  2. named my daughter Laurie, wanted something a little different but not nutty.. apparantly it's a very popular name in the States! not a big fan of, and don't really understand the sudden popularity of the the hyphenated 'Lily - Mae' type first names, my daughters middle name is George and I'm constantly having to correct people "No, not Laurie-George, just Laurie.. middle name George. No hyphen"
  3. Looking to hire a minibus & driver to take myself and a group of friends to & from Leeds at the end of next month. Can anyone share any good recommendations? Thanks
  4. what i hate is people with money who enjoy telling other people how much money they have. its a shame becaue if i had as much money as you seem to have i wouldn't be spending my days trolling sheffield forum and advertising my wealth, i like to think id be doing something a little bit more productive.
  5. so many things wrong with this post.. 1. no guarantee of a job 2. drivers licenses aren't given away for free, i believe that you have to buy a provisional and pay for lessons and pass a test before you get one? 3. food stamps? stop copying and pasting rubbish from what was most likely an american post on facebook, and be glad that we aren't a country that shoots people upon entry.
  6. there is a prison in the US that 'specialises' in the rehabillitation of sex offenders, some of the prisoners there have been voluntary castrated, yet the tests they perform to detect their want to harm others showed that litle changed after the procedure. i think the system in this country needs to change drastically, sentencing is way too soft, espescially when you compare crimes committed here and in America - I'm thinking sentences where life means life, and not just for those who commit high profile crimes or crimes against police officers.
  7. the parent and toddler bays are misused just as much, however, it IS possible for me to get my 1 year old out of her car seat and then carry her til i get a shopping trolley, while it is very annoying when someone misuses that parking space, it doesnt prevent me from actually getting into the shop - for people with certain disabilities someone parking in a disabled space can stop them from getting into the shop at all, i suppose in this day and age there is no cost effective way of monitoring the designated parking spaces...
  8. http://ugliesttattoos.failblog.org/ i remember a girl at school got what she assumed was a 'tribal' style letter 'S' tattooed on her wrist, a real chav she was, not a nice character. The look on her face when one of the goths she used to terrorise informed her it was the Slipknot logo still amuses me to this day.
  9. erm.. they aren't bringing up the boys as girls, they have given the boys complete choice of what to wear, how to have their hair, what they pay with etc.. and the boys have long hair, and sometimes wear 'girls' clothes. there's nothing disgusting about it. it just seems a bit weird to the majority.
  10. afew things: 1. Homosexuality is not a personal choice. & 2. This entire thread i think has used the word 'sexuality' when i believe this is about the child's Gender. Different things.
  11. I think this is quite sad, while i can see their point and the hopes they have for 'Storm' there are better ways to make sure your child does not succumb to gender stereotyping. Giving a child choices, educating them, letting them know that they can be whoever they want to be, acheive anything, and not limiting them to 'Girl stuff' and 'Boy stuff' is the logical way of doing things. The sex of the child is vital to his/her healthy development, and keeping it a secret will no doubt have a detrimental effect.
  12. life should mean life - if you kill someone then you should spend the rest of your days behind bars. The death penalty is an easy way out - they should have time to reflect on what they have done and realise the misery they have caused to their victims and victims family. They should live everyday hoping for death - no cushty cells and tvs. Solitary confinement and just enough food to keep them alive. Prisons would be a lot cheaper to run if that were the case. And if we're talking money ect deport anyone who wasn't born in the UK back to their country of origin to be locked up there.
  13. Britain is turning into a nation of fear, abit like america lol. Everyone is worried that somewhere round the corner in a busy public place is a paedo lurking to grab your child or a terrorist is preparing to bomb you... As for the whole primark thing, its the same in monkey bizness - was there last week for a party and it was announced over the tannoy that "all children must keep their tops on at all times" because of 2 little boys running round with their shirts off. Just a shame that because of some lowlife people, our children, well, cant realy be children. Its basically saying keep your children covered up or else youll provoke a paedo.. maybe if there were decent sentences for the sickos we would feel abit safer and could do away with silly rules such as the ones mentioned. oooh.. that caused a slight rant. oh well. what doesnt?!
  14. i started going into pubs bars ect on the odd occasion from the age of 15 and only on a few occasions was i ever asked for ID now im 20 i get ID'd constantly! - Oh well must be a good sign i suppose!
  15. well then if the BBC is obsessed with Evolution then they must definately be even more obsessed with the lives of fictional East Londoners and Dancing non-celebrities.. because that <removed> is on BBC channels every damn day.
