  7. Dunelm cafe is a joke though. £9+ for 2 jacket potatoes and a drink. Said potatoes were meant to come with a side salad... they were the size of a golf ball on a tiny plate with no salad. Early days, I guess.
  8. The amount of cars that speed through to avoid the red light
  9. Coming home from a family meal last night and about 3 ambulances whizzed past and police cars (around 9:30pm) Went to take the dog for a quick walk later on and Catchbar Lane was full of police and ambulances and the road was closed. It looked like a serious RTA - hope not ---------- Post added 12-12-2016 at 12:58 ---------- Update http://www.thestar.co.uk/news/teenage-boy-fighting-for-life-after-sheffield-road-crash-1-8285494

  11. Hi - I'm collecting a lot of things over the next couple of weeks, warm clothing etc... Who do I ask for when I drop it in?
  12. Fab, great to see our Podcast (The Wednesday Week) listed :-) thank you!
  13. If, like us, you are really excited for Christmas this year there are various ways your support can make a difference to local cancer patients by supporting us by buying our Christmas cards! This year we have designs from local artists, Goo Designs, Alan Pennington (http://www.bohemiart.co.uk) and a special new Sheffield Scene from our friend Luke Prest (http://www.lukeprest.com). Each design is available in a pack of 10 priced £4.00 from The Cavendish Centre, The Famous Sheffield Shop (Ecclesall Road), The Coventry Building (Surrey Street) and now online. You can place your order using the form here: http://cavcare.org.uk/news/christmas-cards-2/
  14. Morris Bywater are still as incredible and reasonable as ever.
  15. Hi, I work at Cavendish Cancer Care, where we provide emotional and physical support to cancer patients and their families from across South Yorkshire. Whilst I know this is relatively short notice now, I’m hoping that you may be able to help a local charity with some festive fundraising. We are the chosen charity of the M&S store on Fargate in the city centre and we are arranging a day of musical entertainment on 17th, 22nd and 23rd December alongside a bucket collection and bag packing. We have slots for 45 – 60 minute performances and it would be great to have your group as part of the programme. We did something similar last year which raised over £1,500 in a single day, and almost £3,000 in the week running up to Christmas, so your support really would make a massive difference to us and the families we care for. Many thanks Victoria http://www.cavcare.org.uk

  17. I was told not to say anything but my Auntie's windowcleaner found a wallet there last week and when he returned it to the owner they told him...
  18. Well we have that god-awful one on Hillsborough shops. I am really hoping for The Range, Boots or a good B&M but I am also worrying for my bank balance should that happen!
  19. We are proud to announce that we are the official partner charity for The Percy Pud 2016! The Percy Pud is South Yorkshire’s most popular 10km each year which takes place on the first Sunday in December. The event, a staple event in every Sheffield runner’s calendar, is sold out AGAIN but we have a chance for you to take part and raise money for local families affected by cancer. Traditionally each finisher in the race receives a Christmas pudding for their efforts. Food and seasonal music are provided after the race. Of course, the route is not bad either. For many, the Percy Pud signals the start of Christmas and this is your chance to get a space! Register your interest here and one of the team will get back to you if you are successful. All we ask is for a £10 entry fee and that you guarantee you can raise at least £150 in sponsorship money – the more the better!
