You can download a list of all the homes. I would look at staff ratios during day and night. Also look for old fashion nursing and homes that do not do dementia. Admiral nursing are excellent contact as they work closely with dementia people and homes. They hands on and can recommend a place. Not sure there is an office in Sheffield but speak to PAM in Manchester office. They also visit. http://www.dementiauk.org/about-us/ Also ask how they handle 'End of life' (Liverpool care Pathway) Most places dementia care is not handled well so its great you are taking steps to find a good one. Important to check inspection reports and if any have been reported for neglect. The best big Bupa ones look good on the outside....but what happen on the inside.. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/10582447/Excl-Care-homes-have-failed-one-in-three-inspection-since-2010.html If you get stuck...PM Good luck!

That's excellence and very much needed. Hope you spread the word! -
Great idea! Your experience is very valuable and may be useful to many others. If you do a demo on youtube that would be good way forward.

Children with autism, Sheffield or Rotherham better?
Winchmore replied to nestbuilder's topic in Disability & Carers Group
Hi Terri Finding the right support can be very challenging for Autism parents. It will be useful to connect with ASD parents and professionals who could help. There is a workshop on Tuesday 28th January, 7-9pm, at St Mary’s Gate. http://www.sheffieldparentcarerforum.org.uk/event/consultation-workshop:-information-for-families-the-local-offer2 Pm if you get stuck. Don't give up! Rgs -
Many thanks for the advise. The incident has been reported and ref logged. Will email City with incident details and request for assistance. Coming originally from London I found the driving experience in Sheffield remarkably positive! Folks here always willing to give way first, even if they are bottom of the road. Unfortunately incidents like this happen and the experience is a negative one. This is regardless of attaching blame or labels to a particulate group of people. I can appreciate most cabbies do work hard for little taking into account the economic climate, high petrol prices and high risks associated with the job. Will put this down to a learning experience. ps Yes I got most of the details apart from insurance and witness details which I am told I should have taken. This would have made the claim process lot easier... ---------- Post added 04-08-2013 at 23:40 ---------- Apart from withholding the insurance details there certainty is a lot more. However , will first wait till city responds.

The main thing is everyone OK!. One normally exchanges details and you go on your way... When you get whacked you're not in your normal state. My objectives was to get the required details. You could say the job was made a wee bit harder. Like I said “why are you getting angry with me...its me you whacked”

No i requested insurance details...twice...did not seem happy. He latter requested a private job...he changed his mind and requested i go through insurance but drove of without giving me the insurance details. Today i got a quote but he was not happy with that and also refused insurance details...you decide

Cab driver accelerated up my rear – Front of the queue - St Marys Rd roundabout. Junction Bramall Lane yesterday 18.45-18.50 Was not a pleasant experience! Made worse as the driver did not give me his insurance details. Requested private job but now not even happy with that. Refused insurance details again. A very strange experience but I wont spare you the details... The driver had two city passengers which now I am told I should have taken their details. Any advise or shall I take it on the chin ...sorry neck

yellow bananas with plenty of dark spots on the skin are OK. Bananas are great for carbs if you on a special diet..its all down to what else you are eating... bananas that have spots have converted most of their starch to simpler sugars. Starch is not allowed on GAPS or SCD because it travels to lower in the GI tract, feeding the pathogenic bacteria that we are trying to starve out. Simple sugars are absorbed quickly and do not give the pathogens a chance to feed. http://ournourishingroots.com/8-ways-to-get-enough-carbs-on-gaps/ http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gut-Psychology-Syndrome-Depression-Schizophrenia/dp/0954852028/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

Hi great for reaching out! I think you are going through quite a critical transition in life. Margarita right about giving up the pot. It will only create further complications as suggested by Dr Natasha McBride who researched this in detail. http://www.meetup.com/AutismUK/pages/Gut_and_Psychology_Syndrome_%28GAPS_Diet%29 GP referral to early intervention team should also have kicked in and also advised on available local support groups. Will have a look and pass on anything useful... I just came across a Awakening workshop .Its two days in london in july and its free. Dont know much about it yet other then below but sounds interesting. The four basic stages of awakening are as follows: Stage One, Victimhood, Stage Two, Empowerment, Stage Three, Surrender and Stage Four, Awakening. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gyHSq9F8AjY http://www.meetup.com/sidrajafri/ PM if you need a chat Rgs
