  1. I was rolling around the floor in hysterics while Jim's dog was attending to Grandma!
  2. Thanks, I've had a look 9th/10th April looks fine. I've had 2 events on in Edale since the beginning of the year and the service disruptions have made me miss both, hence my concern.
  3. I'm with you on that one! Didn't watch it, just covered eyes and ears and waited. I would have chucked I reckon!
  4. Old thread, I know but has anyone seen 'Friday Night Dinner'? As funny as The Inbetweeners!
  5. I keep trying to catch a train from Sheffield to Bamford/Edale/Chinley in order to ride my mountain bike on some of the excellent trails over the 'other side' of the Peaks. But Sunday services seem to be a bit of a mess of late. Today, engineering works means bus replacement service until 15:45, to late to get out there and get back in daylight. Any rail personnel on here to give a bit of insight?
  6. I'm on not much more than minimum wage and had to take an 80 quid a month pay cut this year. I had no mail for 2 weeks while it was snowy. Am I tipping the postman? Am I buggery!
  7. Royal Mail needs totally reorganising. I suggest that all parcels are held in a vast warehouse similar to an Argos store, you receive a card when you've got something slightly larger than a letterbox and then you go and get it from the sorting office. We used to have milk delivered, now we buy it in bulk from supermarkets, it's time the packet-based mail went the same way. I have been waiting 2 and a half weeks for a small signed-for packet. They attempted on Sunday and I've left what I thought was enough time (3 days) to go and get it. STILL NOT BACK OFF THE VAN! Woodseats collection office is the worst I've had to deal with. Restricted opening hours is the main complaint. I used to live in Rugby and the one there is open 7am to 7pm Mon to Fri and 7am to 2pm on Saturday. That should be the standard nationwide. I shall think twice before using royal mail again.
  8. Yes, school was EXACTLY like that. I was an Inbetweener (look it up!) and my friends were just like that. Endless ****-taking, banter, foul language. Funniest show on TV!
  9. It's all prime agricultural land around there and the farmers are particularly militant, I wouldn't risk wild camping myself!
  10. I had some Brasher Goretex Superlites and they were amazing. Leather was a bit thin though. Leather with Gore-Tex liner would be the way to go.
  11. The 'eye transplant' scene in Minority Report. The tooth extraction with an ice skate in Castaway I genuinely haven't ever seen those two scenes as I looked away! All of Inspector Gadget (fell asleep)
