if you go to an independent mortgage advisor the fee's are generally that he will earn a proc fee normally in the region of 0.3% to 0.5% of the amount borrowed plus any fee's like valuation. The companies off panel are usually building societies you have never heard of or adverse companies should there be many of them about nowadays. Selling insurance is where the big commissions come from. The mortgage is generally the introduction to the client......

fed up with my job - though i should be grateful for having one as i've been laid off twice fed up of where i live. itchy feet though should be grateful as a lot of people would love to live where i live fed up of being single!!!!! not desperate, rather be single than with the wrong person but it does tie in to why i'm fed up with the top two!! lol BUT, any single women on here who want a decent bloke, give me a shout!! lol

That question has been asked before and nobody seems to admit doing so! About 3 or 4 years ago I met a couple of women off here but not due to this thread. One was a bit strange the other bit of a fling. Rarely go on here now so maybe some have hooked up that I have missed?

In the village where i come from but dont anticipate a big one, though if there are any single tourists about you never know. Sometimes living in a tourist area can have its advantages:hihi: Around here New Years Day is the big one!!!

i brought a flat there in the summer of 2003 and only a couple of months later all the work was finished so i would say its been ready for a tenant since something like just over 6 years. A long time!!

Bit of a surreal decade, much better than the 90's where i was existing instead of living and seemed to have no future or any idea what a life was! Started off met a girl just before the millennium and started a five year relationship/engagement beginning of 2000. Left a dead end job with no future that i spent 8 years in back in 2001, did a bit of travelling working and living in Italy and South of France. Started a career in 2002 within financial services that was, for a time, very enjoyable and started college to get some decent qualifications. Old man nearly died and has been suffering ever since with the end nigh. I would be very surprised if he lasts much longer..... Left the countryside and hit the bright lights of Sheffield by buying my first property in 2003 with career progressing nicely. 2004 all about existing and with career progression. Holiday in Dominican Republic was most likely the highlight. 2005 very, very difficult. Both Grandma's and Uncle died. Sold one property and brought another and split up with x mrs which was very difficult and left me heavily in debt which still in now but is now manageable and changed employment - not necessarily for the better! Also finished college so that was obviously good! Spent 2006 getting up, going to work, drinking a lot and getting laid at the weekend but made some good friends! Sold property in 2007 moved back to the countryside, moved back to Sheffield and then back to the countryside in the space of 9 months. Stayed here ever since. Rediscovered childhood friends who x mrs took me away from. Guess you never really lose your roots. Left one job to go self employed which was not as promised then back to old company with a fresh head. Had a very messy brief encounter with a girl...i was a bit of a bad boy but that was due to my state of mind at the beginning of the year with finally selling the house with the x (took 18 months) and job front being rubbish. Oh and spent a week in hospital. Not touching poppers again!! But spend Xmas in Australia which was amazing!!! 2008 lost my job in financial services due to the recession and started work in a factory close to home which is ok and brought me closer to family and friends - i've always been fairly distant due to either location or me being me. So suppose in some ways 2008 was about discovering myself and, after nearly 33 years realising everybody is not against me! To think if i went to a shrink it would never have taken so long!! lol. Finally ill over Xmas so that was rubbish! 2009 fairly interesting. Decided where i want my career to go and decided to go to uni as I would be able to work around it in the factory as its open 24/7. Got made redundant, realised uni wasn't realistic financially, took on a very poor paid laboured job. Decided to go to college and doing well. Got my job back in factory and, hopefully, everything will be ok and stable. As of the last week met a girl i like who works at the same place as me. She goes home on wednesday for christmas, i'm working nights till then so god knows if anything will happened in the new year. Bloody hope so she seems sound and ironically near enough 10 years exactly since x!! lol. Time will tell, not getting my hopes up! Yep put much more than needed and no doubt left loads out but quite therapeutic!!! lol

Hi, cant really give you much info but when i went for xmas 2007 i booked through http://www.netflights.co.uk as they were the cheapest at the time. Due to the fact i went december to january the flight was something like £1,400 because of Xmas. A mate went October 2007 and cost him something like £800, cant really remember. I'd be open to flying to Oz from London and get a plane or train from Manchester. That was the cheaper option at the time. Not much more i can help with but have a great time, it will be amazing. I'm looking to going again beginning of 2011 for a month or so. Go for 6 weeks if you can, there is a LOT to see.

Its Youlgrave. Actual village is called Middleton by Youlgrave and the chap had a collection due to his own fascination with them. He had his own personal collection on his own private property but Peak Park (and certain people who dont like the view from their weekend/holiday home being disturbed) didn't like it. Anyway, many a court appearance and much wranglings later he had to reduce his collection of 30 or so but still has some. Many moons ago, think i'm talking circular 2000/2001 maybe a year earlier there was a BBC documentary series about troublesome neighbours. This story was to be the last episode of the series and the most anticipated as the BBC was advertising it in advance as the jewel in the crown. It got scrapped because certain people who who viewed the episode before airing realised they would look like a bunch of prats and objected. Draw your own conclusion...... Not saying it wasnt unsightly, just that people who never lived in the village full time or who were not brought up in Middleton were the only one's, and of course Peak Park, had an issue. BTW, when i say it was unsightly, you had to look over a tree's and through a private gate to see them, at the time.

Maybe not really relevant but many moons ago i was a member of a gym for keep fit and though running/jogging (whether in the gym or not) did trigger my asthma i found the cross trainer and cycling did not. Besides, i always find running/jogging is the most boring activity!!

Hi, Just wanting some feedback on what to do about going away. Not had a holiday since Australia Xmas 2007 (highly recommended) and i am getting very itchy and want a holiday!! Being, sadly, the eternal single bloke who cannot find a woman i dont have much opportunity to get away be it a week in the sun or something more cultural. I dont really fancy going by myself so it looks like i'm stuck with suggesting a 'lads' holiday with some mates. So where is the best place to go nowadays in mid September? Not been on this type of holiday since 1999 and I'm guessing September is maybe slightly out of season though went to Tenerife in October back in 1994:shocked: where does the time go?!?!?! So any recommendations?? Also, holidays from work...this is one for the HR out there! Started a new job in June and they are saying if I want time off within the first 6 months I have to take it unpaid. Now, my understanding is the days of working a year without time off is long gone so i was under the impression under employment law i am allowed to take holidays but if i leave the company without earning the necessary days holiday i have to pay them back.
