  1. I have to agree with all this totally, and there is also evidence to suggest that people recover more quickly at home.
  2. For joining a club, try this link to find a local club: http://www.sheffieldbadminton.org.uk/p/clubs.html There are plenty to go at. Sheffield has a healthy badminton scene. If it doesn't work out get back to me. Good luck
  3. The Beauchief hotel was fighting of the water bravely after the Sheaf broke it banks around 3:45pm. All the staff were out using buckets mops and barriers to hold off the water. Best of luck to the event there tonight!
  4. They had a water-pipe burst in the floor affecting the ticket office. They've been drilling holes in the floor to find the leak, which they appear to have solved by 6 today.
  5. We have a badminton club that plays on Fridays from 7 to 10 and we've a bit of spare room over the summer. It's very cheap - we have a £10 membership fee and you pay £3.50 a night. Works out to be about the cheapest badminton in Sheffield if you play regularly-ish. We play at Hallam University sports hall on Broomgrove Road - just off Ecclesall Road. It wouldn't suit beginners but if you've played a bit. (We're shut after this coming Friday for 3 weeks due to exams in the Hall. But will be back all summer after that.) If you fancy it email me on bees77707@yahoo.co.uk and I'll arrange for you to come and try it out (ie no need to pay the £10 but you will have to pay the £3.50 to Hallam Uni.) I'm a qualified coach too - so could help with your game. Gez
  6. Thanks to all for your adeas. I'll post a reply if we get anywhere. Thanks again. Gerry
  7. Does anybody know where we might get somebody to host our local Badminton club website for free - or at very reduced rates? We're willing to do a bit of advertising in return... We have lots of material prepared and a webmaster to design it - just the need the host. Gerry Firkins Broomgrove BC
  8. Technophobe! I can't reply to your message as I haven't posted enough replies yet! Email me directly on beees77707@yahoo.co.uk Though I understand where they are coming from, it looks damn rude that I can't reply back to you! But there's nowt I can do apparently. Gerry
  9. Gaz Thanks for the offer. I was really replying to your suggestion about caoching your group. Sadly I'm too old now for singles really - but I'd give ir a go if you like. Alternatively I've get several pupils that need stretching abit that might take you up on your offer. Gerry
  10. You would be welcome to come and try our club. Broomgrove badminton club play on Friday nights from 7 - 10pm.
