  1. Hi all, my daughter has found a beautiful lost kitten on Psalter Lane this evening. We have fed it and it's settled down but the owners must be out of their minds. Please ask around and I'll check the forum periodically. Many thanks.
  2. Brill, thanks for the replies. Despite the rain, I'm going to leg it up there and see what's going on. :-)
  3. Hi all, I'm looking for a painter and decorator in the Brincliffe area that can be personally recommended. I've read several posts about how bad decorators have been but very few recommendations. Thanks. :)
  4. The Chelsea Park bonfire thread above is for last year. Does anybody know if the firework display is on again this year? I can't find any current information, just old posts and threads. Thanks all :-)
  5. I'm moving to a house within a parking scheme and if I have to pay for an annual permit that allows me to park outside my own house I will. Shame the scheme is losing money tho, having said that, I wonder what the stupid alterations at Meadowhead roundabout is costing? BTW, my wife's car is a tincey wincey one that gets a permit for free! ---------- Post added 01-09-2013 at 07:58 ---------- I agree captain, have you driven down Blackstock Road recently?
  6. Hi everybody, we are moving house this week and I'm wanting to clean the carpets before we move in. Rather than lash out £200 on somebody else doing it, I'm wanting to hire a wide track Rug Doctor machine from Homebase. Has anybody used one of these and are they any good? Thanks.
  7. :thumbsup:Thanks Lubylou, that's really helpful. The after school club is probably the more important, I will call them later regarding the mornings! We chose High Storrs based on Ofsted reports and local reputation, it does appear to be a brilliant school, however, it's always better to get personal recommendations. If worst came to worst, we'd have to keep her at her current junior school and I'd have to travel a little more in the mornings... Grrrrr. I'll see what HBJS says.
  8. I realise this and posted so others might benefit.
  9. Blimey, let's hope it doesn't have the same affect as the lane reduction near KFC! What a **** up that was/is...
  10. Gotta say, I love chickens.......surrounded by roast potatoes, peas and gravy. ;-)
  11. I agree Mecky, once rode from Bowshawe roundabout to Meadowhead roundabout. I have driven this road dozens of times, when I rode it it was, without me realising, Himalayan
  12. Got to be honest, I did have a chuckle to myself watching the news report last night and the British comparison with the Netherlands and their '19% population riding bikes to work' against our 1%. Has anybody been to the Netherlands? Isn't it the flattest country on earth?
  13. True! I have a lovely garden that takes no maintenance whatsoever.
