  1. Damned well make it be, for sure, and I mostly agree. To act with certainly and assuredness, and to make it happen, now, in this moment. Yes I like that. I perhaps have an aversion to trying to make things happen too hard however. Sometimes, I think less effort is more effective. The danger being, that if you make something OK-ish happen, or come in to your life, it may be a good thing, but it may be taking up the place of something even better to come in to your life. Of course, if you pass up everything, in hope that something better is gonna come along, that's no good either!
  2. Sometimes you see something that you may want, and it's just right for you. Maybe an item of clothing etc, that you feel 'has your name on it'. Perhaps if you leave it with the intention of coming back to it, with the hope or expectation that it will still be there, is not 100% fool proof. It may, or may not be there, depending on several factors. Some people, may not actually care if it's there or not there, when they come back, because they already have everything they will ever need, intrinsicly, inside themselves, and everything else is just viewed as a fun game. *scraps the blackboard* ... purely for moon and dragon's listening pleasure ... heh.
  3. Congrats Hels, you dark horse you!
  4. Please disregard my flippant advice Max. In all seriousness, I think you should contact the owner, and ask him what he'd like you to do with them, be that pass them on, or bin them, etc. Explain the situation, then give him the choice.
  5. Hi Max, How about scan them, put them online, and provide a handy link from this thread? No? Ok, fair enough! Maybe best to put them back where you found them.
  6. Just print out your own, everyone else does! (make sure you don't make stuff up though, that would be cheating).
  7. Well I think you sound great Rentaknight, and for your information, I am a socially inept geek type of person, and I am just so jealous of your flat mates. Why don't you forget about them, and show me the light !? Train me !? I'll even pay !!!
  8. I have to agree with you Sidla, people are being unfairly harsh with Rentaknight, without knowing the details of what's going on, or his motivation for posting here. I think it is a fair comment though, that he does come across as a little self-superiour in his post, however, that doesn't mean he is. He could try just being easy and natural with them, don't try too hard though. Yeah, and what's this 'Social Ladder' he mentions? I didn't know there was one.
  9. My dog does that too! It's ok though, because everytime I fart, I just blame it on the dog! Ahhhhh ... the sweet sweet smell of revenge ...
  10. Rentanight: I think you have several wonderful opportunities, to gain from your current situation, you lucky lucky person! Fisrtly - Introspection: You have the opportunity for introspection, to full examine yourself and to look inside, and take note of the cause-effect relationship, between how you are behaving (including your attitudes towards others) and the results you're getting (how other people are in turn, responding to you). Secondly - Sharing Interests: You have the opportunity to share interests, and perspectives, with a group of people who seem to have a radically different view on life (and the meaning of success) to your own. How wonderful is that? It may also lead to a change in your own perspectives, which may be something you hadn't expected, and may well be very good for you. Thirdly - Helping Your Flat Mates Develop 'Social Skills': The challenge of coaxing your flat mates out of their tiny shells. I mean actually befriending them, and getting to know them and their individual circumstances and requirements. Then helping them to flourish socially. Maybe even letting them in to your wonderful world, assuming they'd like to come in of course. Fourth - Meeting Kinky Goth Chicks: Errrrrr, quickly moving on ... To be honest Rentanight, you sound a little self-superiour. That is never going to help you make friends with anyone but other vain and superficial people. If that's what you want, I would suggest you continue as you are. If you really want to change things for yourself, your current situation may afford you the opportunity to see life in a different light. Good luck! ps. Geeks RULE baby
  11. If the council don't budge, I'd suggest buying a bulk lot of padlock and keys, between the 7 of you residents. Just keep padlocking the door, and then after the council come to remove it, simply fit another one. They will soon learn, after they've been out to remove the padlock a few times. They can't possibly win in this scenario.
  12. Or you could just offer to give them the fuel back. Syphon the correct volumne out of your tank and on to their forecourt if they're not going to provide you with a container.
  13. I told the caller I was registered, and asked him for his details, name, company name etc. It's the Listening Company . I've already submitted a complaint to the TPS. These calls just p**s me off. If I need to buy something, I will call them.
  14. TPS is nothing to do with BT as far as I'm aware Ann.
  15. Does anyone know anything about the Telephone Preference Service? I've been registered for some time with them, and just recieved an unsolicited sales call. Apparently ....... So it it's unlawful, can I make any kind of a claim against the company calling me? Or is it all just a total waste of time?
  16. I would defo opt for Bookey's excellent suggestion above (his first post, first). The point about them wanting to avoid bad publisity, I couln't agree more with. They will so want to avoid anything that will do damage to their public image (and hence profit margins). I'd do just what he said, let us know how it turns out.
  17. Maybe they need to do a better job with their marketting and promotions?
  18. Yeah, it's like a blonde swedish supermodel, with a mega rich dad, and gorgeous blue eyes that you can just fall in to and ... Yeah, that'd be a real good cache.
  19. Basically because other people would rip them to shreds, and pooo all over anyone being so open and honest.
  20. I'm getting squeeling noises from the car, while I accelerate. It also feels like it's loosing power as I accelerate, not too sure if it is, just feels like it. How do I know if I need a new cluth? p.s. MODS, is this post in the right place? (ask an expert is no more).
  21. Please don't credit me with it, it's just off some site! But yes, there's a beauty in us all, that's more than skin deep, so often we forget how to see it, and think that beauty is about how we look.
  22. I found this ... The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen within her eyes, Because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole. But true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives, The passion that she shows, And the beauty of a woman with passing years only grow ... also check out Audrey Hepburns Beauty Tips.
  23. Me too, don't think they should be on sale to general public. Kids buy them, and I've seen them fire rockets at cars on the road etc.
