Poor old Nora, I remember whenever I was waiting for the number 41 she was always sat there on the wodden benches. I remember once she just sat shouting "I'll be sat ont f*cking saddle" over and over again. She once shouted at me " Nar then does thar like potatoes and fish or fish and potatoes" . Harmeless old lady I suppose.
Don't know when it opened but my Father and Uncle both worked there. They used to make electrodes for industry by baking high quality carbon and graphite at high temperatures. Many of the electrodes were used in the atomic power plants as well.
