  1. Dont you change a thing mate! you're right and they're wrong! Be strange, be different just dont be like....them!
  2. There are rumours flying around that Microsoft will charge for you to download and use thier Microsoft Anti-spyware program. Call me cynical but where is their motivation for making Windows more secure when they can make a bundle by making you pay for making their product spyware free?
  3. I admit that Norton is rubbish but it is awfully kind of them to offer six months free subscription. More interestingly Norton used to be all buddy buddy with Microsoft so twas a bit of a surprise to see them included in the pack.
  4. Just do a search for 'Google pack' then download it. Not difficult is it? If I provide a link it'll only take you to what i haven't already downloaded from the google pack which isn't much use for everyone else.
  5. All the Google toys like, Picassa, desktop search, Google earth etc etc. Plus 'Real', ad-aware, Norton anti-virus, Adobe reader, screensavers plus a load more stuff. I'm installing it now and the Google desktop is espeically funky.
  6. Google announced thier latest 'up yours' to Billy Gates today an installer package full of useful software that directly competes with standadized Microsoft software. Most of us may well have some (or even all) of what's on offer, but why not download it anyway if only to let Bill Gates know that Microsofts new world order finaly has competition that wont be bought, bullied or intimidated.
  7. These guys are really good http://www.europc.co.uk/ but unfortunatly you dont get a monitor with the price but if you've already got on then there are some sweet deals if you shop around. The after sales service is also very good indeed
  8. I go the AMD 64 and it serves me very well, highly recommended, espeically if you're a gamer.
  9. Just plugged in my old graphics card (Radeon 9200) and it works just fine...
  10. Ok all I'm following any and all advice left on this post so I'll let you know how I get on. Punk, it wasn't me who was on about 'high speed gaming' it was daz. And what's with the quotation marks for the word 'believe' you idiot.
  11. Well I've reformated my hard drive twice this evening in an effort to get this card working but still no luck. I daren't install the drivers because I have no idea what to do, my only idea left isthat perhaps it is something to do with the monitor? What do you guys think?
  12. Ok I've just tried that daleam, so we'll see what happens. Got it set to its hightest which was 85hertz.
  13. I managed to get the drivers installed (the latest ones) by turning down the resolution and by turning down the hardware acceleration to it's lowest setting. Still the computer feels real sluggish and unstable. I haven't even attempted to play a game yet. I get the feeling that as soon as I reboot something will go wrong. Oh nearly forgot, when my computer loaded I got a message, something to do with VPU Recover....gonna go do a google search see what can come up with.
  14. A couple of days ago I posted a thread asking advice on a new graphics card. I bought a Radeon 9600xt 256mb 128Bit and it doesn't work! Getting thing plugged in is fine but every time I try and install the drivers that came with it I reboot and then one of several things happen: 1) At the log in screen I click my name windows loads up then a couple of seconds later my monitor clicks off. 2) As the log in loads up the screen goes bonkers and I cant make sense of what I'm seeing. At the moment all I can do to run windows is have the lowest screen settings on or turn the drivers off. Does anyone have a clue as to what might be going wrong? Cheers as always P
  15. No thanks mate, I know my line is good, not perfect but good enough to keep a constant connection. Cheers anyway P
  16. That's the whole irony. For months now I've been using my free Voyager 105 usb modem with no problems what so ever but last week I bought a NETGEAR DG834G wirless router/modem ( £78 ) so my girlfriend could use her laptop for the internet. Since then we've had nothing but problems, consistant dropped connections throughout the day and night. Everything is configured as it ought to be, and I've updated the firmware to the most recent release but still we get the dissconnects. I plug in my usb and therer are no disconnects. I've spoken to both Netgear adn Bulldog (my ISP)> Bulldog rekon the router knackered and I'm inclined to agree. Anyway what I wanted to do was compare my noise margin on both devices hoping it would give me some clues. Noise margin is around 12db on the NETGEAR falling to around 7db as it dissconnects.
  17. I'm wanting to test my USB Modem (Voyager 105) which does indeed have a 'diagnostics' option but that delivers no useful information at all. I was hoping there'd be a magical website that'll check my noise margin for me (like all the website that offer to check your bandwidth speed) if not the is there any software that I might be able to get hold that would do it for me??
  18. Was wondering if any here knows somewhere that I can check what the noise margin in on my ADSL line. Cheers P
  19. Woo there with the confusing lingo slh73, were gonna have to take this one nice and slowly, a half step at a time, Lets just figure out what computer Daz has got before we really scare him with all this talk of AGPs and PCIs.
  20. I'm sorry but I dont understand you question, could you perhaps be a bit more clear. Cheers
  21. Ok follow these instructions: Click start/control panel/system/ You should now be able to read what your specs are. Write them down and then send it to me. eg Packard Bell AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3200+ 2.20 Ghz 1.00GB RAM
  22. Ok. What version of windows are you using?
  23. Pm me everything you know about your pc (specs) and what price your willing to pay, it would also be handy if I knew what you used your computer for e.g. are you a gamer?
