  1. Hope so too it would be great to have another track.could give some of the others a boot up the backside if they had a bit of competition aswell.
  2. Can I just also add that I didn't see anything because I told them I did not want to.they were very understanding of this and made sure I didn't have to x
  3. I also had a miscarriage but didn't have the choice of medical intervention and i'm thankful I didn't.I was approximate 10weeks.I was also able to attend a service for my baby as there was no medical intervention.I also have my babies ashes at home and I think without those final stages I would never have been able to move on.At the time i didn't want a service or anything to remind me of what had happened and thought the hospital were doing it to torture me but thank god I went because it was closure for me and I felt comfort knowing that even that even though my baby wasn't a baby in medical terms it was still my child and I took comfort in knowing it had been a dignified ending for him or her.the physical pain wasn't pleasant but I think it made the metal trauma a lot better to deal with.hope this helps x
  4. Yes is was strange but true.think it was the bloke who did this is your life who presented it (forgot his name ).it was a good program me aswell.better than some of the rubbish what's on itv now
  5. I don't think anything has happened more recently.I think they had a priest or something to exocise the area.I remember this story well been a teen in stocksbridge at the time although I never had the urge to camp out near there. Like a lot of kids did at the time.they say that the bypass was built on an old monastery and the ghost of the monk was angry about the land been disturbed.studies were also told by the workmen that when they were excavatIng the land for the bypass th go on they dug up and old grave yard and on the inside of the coffins were scratch marks where people had been buried alive.obviously some of the tales were very far fetched but really a lot of the accidents what happened around the opening of the pass could not be explained by anything else and survivors of road accidents swear the monk was standing in front of the car and they have braked and this is what caused the accidents. If you speak to people from the village a lot of people have seen him.I know some one who said he sat in the passenger side of her car for about 200 yards of the bypass. I never really thought much about it as a kid it was just a bit of entertaiment for us but as I got older and was looking to buy my first home I fell in love with a house at the back of the steel works. I hadn't thought much about the monk for years but as soon as I went to look at the house and saw that the garden finished right at the back of the bypass where the bridge was and most of the sightings of him I wasn't taking the chance on that one!!
  6. I used to live a few doors down from Willie Thorne in stocksbridge.John Virgo was the best once saw him walking up chapel walk and he asked me where he could get a saran from so I told him and he said do you mind talking me...the cheek of it..lol
  7. I remember a lot of the companies names mentioned from my childhood. I never really thought much about haulage these days as my dad downsized a lot years ago but it's made me see what a big part of my life lorries actually were.I spent most of my childhood going to sleep in my own bed then waking up in some service station or on a motorway.lol.oh those were the days, thanks for the memories x
  8. ha ha.it reminds me of a lorry driver who used to work for my dad who had a small fleet of lorries.I remember he was driving across the flouch before it was a roundabout, just a small crossroads and his twenty five ton load had detached from the lorry.dad got a call from the police as the trailer had the company name on the side.the trailer was blocking the entire crossroads.lorry driver pulls into yard and dad beckons him over and the driver says what's up pal...ha ha dad laughed for ages after giving him a gobfull,he hadn't even noticed and he'd driven another five mile without it and reversed the lorry back in the yard!!.All he said was oh dear,ad best gu get it..haha.loads of those stories over the years still make me chuckle to this day.
  9. As a greyhound owner and trainer I find this story appalling.I'm not sure whippets have to abide by the same legislation as greyhounds but in my book they should.A greyhound must be leaded and muzzled in any public area by law and walked by a responsible person due to exactly what has happened to this cat.I know this is a natural instinct to the type of dog but all it boils down to is useless owners.
  10. He lives at the bottom of our road in elsecar and saw him a few times in our local.always said hello and had a little chitchat with anyone who spoke to him.also opened a charity event for us in the pub .this was just after his time in emmerdale.don't see him in the pub lately but still see him up and down road or tesco at wath.nice chap if you ask me
  11. My daughter goes to this school and all parents are well aware of the school dress code.I must admit that febuary was quite a bizarre time to clamp down but I do know that pupils had been warned previously.I do think what was discusting is that teachers found it acceptable to send home children as young as 11 without even a phone call to parents to let them know.
  12. My five year old suffers terrible with this on her head and it drives her mad.cream is useless as it's on her scalp.I read a while back somewhere to give her goats milk and that has worked a treat.
  13. Is it for yourself or do you have children?I can recommend Clifton park at Rotherham if you have kids.free museum, play area, sandpit ect.there is a small fair type thing and the rides are about 50p but there is only a few.if you go when it's warm there is a water slash area with jets, fountains, paddling pools and different water features.great day out
  14. Hi I had two doors fitted three years ago.had a problem with lock on one but sorted it immediately and never had a problem since
