UKIP, we're not seriously.. right?
molly44 replied to bhunaboy's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Farage comes across as the only politician that actually answers a question. You may not like his answer but at least hes not pussy footing around and just trying all the time to push his parties latest focus group, approved agenda. Maybe a straight talking politician is a thing of the past in this country. no wonder we are all in such a mess:suspect: -
Refused car insurance due to your post code ?
molly44 replied to Justin Smith's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
I had loads of trouble with my quote. it was never refused but it jumped up considerably for no reason. 20+ years driving. one accident. several years ago, so had 9 years ncd. but it still jumped from £300 to well over £700. when i put a friends post code in(just to see the difference) i was quoted under £200. I would have loved to take it but of course i would have been breaking the law. so i was stuck with the cheapest i could find for my post code which is £728 (comp). -
Anyone seen anything last night?. car set on fire at the rear of the shops on the four greens. around 11.30 pm, no one hurt but the car did set the fences alight that run along the back gardens there. so someone will have to pay for those to be replaced.

If you died in your house, how long till you would be found?
molly44 replied to chem1st's topic in General Discussions
Seeing that i have no family it could be up to six months or more!!. the neighbours keep to themselves so unless they decide to investigate the bad smell it could be even longer! -

Also this might be useful as well.. A link to the list of food banks availabe in the Sheffield area.....http://www.sheffieldfoodbank.org.uk/ Dont expect just to turn up though, you need to be referred by a professional E.g Doctor, Social worker,Policeman/Woman. I am sure if you manage to phone them they will walk you though the process -

the short anwser is that we cant!, i am in the exact same boat. if it was not for my old dad feeding me twice a week i would have staved long ago, and now with the extra bedroom tax and 20% council tax i will have to beg the doctor to send me to a food bank. and before anyone says cut back, the only thing i could possible cut back is the TV license. that will turn me into a criminal though, i have paid for everything, never stolen anything in my life, never had dealing with the law. but i dont think i could resist the pull of watching the soaps!! -
save up more and do yourself a favour and get a better area. lots of car crime and antisocial behaviour around there. and of course the odd house break in or two

Park Hill Rentals: What do you think?
molly44 replied to EthelMM's topic in Sheffield Property & Housing
Hi, yes i can see why the internal ultra modern architecture of Park Hill appeals - but sadly i feel it is in the wrong location entirely.Probably should have been refurbished for rented social housing, it's former function for many decades. From the South originally and quite involved with housing in the Midlands and South Yorkshire my advice would be to rent first and discover more about the city you move too. Yesterday i was going to visit Park Hill just to see how it was all progressing, i got half way over the tram bridge and decided to retreat back into the city center. The walk to the flats in the biting wind just seemed too far.At night i would not want to risk it on a regular basis & car no safer!? You will discover Hunter's Bar, Broomhill and Crookes are the favorite locations for students and young professionals but safety is always at a premium. -

honestly there are enough two beds available for rent in Sheffield. i think you would be wiser to choose one of those. the area around there is NOT the best -
Seem to be lots of burglaries in Sheffield?
molly44 replied to AngryDog's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
move into a flat (dog allowing) thats the safest bet. dont be fooled the recent benefit cap is really going to get the (crooks if you like) out in force. you only have to mix with people of that ilk and they have no scruples about a bit of street crime. they have no other choice. the food banks are not enough to stop the rot that is going on in our city's estates. -
Sheffield refugee settlement programme

they just drop them into poor areas then leave them to the tender mercies of the locals. if i were them i would pick london instead of sheffield.
