  1. Hi, I've been playing tennis for a year now. I'm an improver/intermediate but I have a hard time finding people to play with! Is anyone interested in hitting or playing friendly matches with me? I can play at Weston Park, Rustlings or Hallamshire (they have indoor courts). I'm a PhD student so I can play during the daytime on weekdays and weekends. Evenings are fine with me too. Get in touch if you're interested. Thanks, Maria
  2. I recently bought a bag of corn kernels from New Roots on Glossop Road. Their address is: 347 Glossop Road, S10 2HP
  3. Hi Lucy, Thanks for the response. The event takes places this Friday after 16:30. There are three volunteers that will shave/dye their hair in public, while we'll be filming the event and collect donations. We can't postpone the event at this point as we have already advertised it...
  4. Hi, We are few students in the University of Sheffield, raising funds for children with cancer, by shaving/cutting/dyign our hair. We're planning to have an event in the Department of Psychology this Friday. Unfortunately, the hairdresser that we had booked for the day can't make it and we now need to find a replacement. As this is a charity event, we'd prefer not paying too much. Here's our website for more information: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/showFundraiserProfilePage.action?userUrl=followthebuzz&isTeam=true Please contact me or reply to this thread if you can help. Many thanks, Maria
  5. Thank you for all the replies. I don't feel I'm good enough to play games against any experienced players at the moment. Probably after practising a few more hours... Thanks again for the help.
  6. Hi all, I used to play tennis as a child and I'm thinking of starting again. It's more exciting and more interesting than joining the gym, I guess. I'll probably need a few lessons again as I haven't played for a long time. Being a PhD student I'm concerned about cost, so I'm wondering which club would you recommend. I'd prefer something relatively close to the city centre. Does anyone have any experience with the Hallamshire Tennis club or the Rustlings Lawn Tennis Club? I'd appreciate your help. Many Thanks, Maria
  7. As mentioned before Peter Cook & Dudley Moore
