Hi I'm looking for someone to clean out the guttering of my rental property. It's a semi so has front, side and back gutters. Located in Hillsborough S6. Does anyone know roughly the price you'd expect to pay? My window cleaner used to do it for about 50 pound but he's left now and I don't have another one. Thanks

Lost white dog found, with blsck patch near base of tail. Took it to be scanned at vets for pets and has microchip but they couldn't get hold of database company to access details. Advised I take it to kennels on Spring Street. Call me on 077485 46367 if you know whose it is, but taking to kennels shortly

Hi Lovely brown staffy dog has been found wandering in Sheff Wed superstores car park, Hillsborough S6, just off Penistone Road. No collar. Seemed friendly. Staff there have contacted the dog warden who has now collected it. They will try and locate the owner, fingers crossed it has a chip

Well I won't throw it away unless I have to as it would be a shame not to fix it. It would still be a nice TV. Too many people do give up too easily and discard them just to get a new one. I rang a repair shop down Queens Road who suggested it's fixable, just 20 quid up front first to diagnose the problem, but that comes off overall price to fix. So I'll probably end up taking it there or another similar repair shop. Thanks for all your help, views and advice guys

yes thank you, I don't have any knowledge or experience, so may either get it repaired by someone if it is not too expensive or simply buy a new one (but NOT bush).

How do you do a total reset? Is that easy enough to do for the simple minded?

Yes, have tried turning it on/off by the remote and also the switch on the side of the tv loads of times, also unplugged it and left it a while and then tried again. Just keeps flashing at me - the cheeky bugger

Hi all, Sorry if this is in the wrong place. Just wondered if anyone knew whether it was worth repairing a large 40" TV (which just seems now to suddenly not want to turn on that's all). The light flashes but nobody is home! Just getting the feelers out on whether it might be worth trying to repair it(might just simply be the switch or something) or simply investing in a new one. It is admittedly about 4 years old now. Do people still come out to repair these days or do you have to take them to a repair shop? cheers

Not unsurprisingly, I've just come across this problem with the RSPCA. My mum's friend has a cat that is clearly a stray living outside her back door and is heavily pregnant. The RSPCA did not seem in the slightest bothered as it was not injured. She has been feeding it, although it's extremely timid, but it's about to have kittens and I worry about their survival living outdoors. I think the cats protection told her they would come and get the kittens but not the mother - sad really when animals are in need they don't always get the help they deserve

Cornwall is VERY dog friendly. I go there a lot. You will find a lot of the beaches allow dogs, I love Hayle and Gwithian myself but that's a lot further down from Padstow, and next to St Ives, but it has miles of sand dunes and flat soft sandy beaches that are dog friendly you can walk along the beach looking out at Godrevy lighthouse. There's loads of dog friendly pubs as well. Good luck, have a nice time

Yes, I think it looked a lot worse than it was fortunately. My sister was one of the first out, and she said he was starting to move but she told him to lie still as he was complaining of neck pain. I guess you don't know what injuries lie underneath, so I hope he didn't suffer anything more that was too serious. I do think the car was travelling a fair speed that the lads were driving, their windscreen was smashed and the bonnet crumpled, but hard to say who had the green light or who tried to beat it. The bike looked a right off too! Luckily a guy jumped out of a car and said he was a doctor, so he stayed with the biker. Fingers crossed for him.

It was a collision between a car and a motor cyclist. Two young lads in the car hit the motor cyclist who was thrown several yards away. Heard the bang and came out (live right opposite) and looks like one of them tried to beat the lights, but not sure who was at fault. Motor cyclist was coming down Parkside and the car was coming from town. He was put in recovery position while ambo was called but was conscious, so that's a good sign. The two lads were obviously shaken. The other cars had stopped as we're witnesses. Hope he makes a good recovery. But yeah the tail backs were huge with redirected traffic!

just for information, vets4pets at pets at home, kilner way, sheffield 6, are open 7 days a week. Mine even had his injection booked easter monday. They were open Friday, Sat, Mon over Easter (just closed on the Sunday), and they are very handy if you run into problems at a weekend or prefer weekend appointments

Thank you guys that's really helpful. Have already had some tips of a gentleman who runs private classes who my sister knew (his charges are quite expensive to attend his classes) but he gave us some good advice to try to help with socialising skills. It does sound like a long patient process but the results should hopefully be rewarding. Thanks for the recommendations, I will bear them in mind if we don't start to see any improvement in the next few weeks with the tips we were given to try. Do you have any idea how much those people charge for assessments? I know it will be a slow process but it would be nice to get his behaviour more under control before we take him on holiday with us to Cornwall in June

Hi everyone Just wondered if anyone knew or could recommend the best way of dealing with dog bevioural problems. I'm in Sheffield 6. Would you try a dog training class where there are lots of dogs or would you try a 1-1 approach with a behavioural specialist? The reason I ask is that it appears to be aggression towards other dogs, although not always every single dog and not always straight away. He's a rescue I recently took on and the centre think he is about 5 years old. He is down as a llhasa apso, but I think he may have a bit of shih tzu in him. We got him as a playmate for our other llhasa apso of about the same age. I also have an older terrier cross mongrel. They all get on absolutely great together. My own dogs are not the problem. He's a lovely affectionate sweet natured little boy who loves cuddles and has settled in very well. I think this is despite being mistreated in the past. We have given him a name and he responds very well, he is learning recall and comes straight back for a training treat now (without any other distractions). He walks well on a harness and follows my other two about. However, while out on walks, (he was extremely giddy at first like a puppy), when he sees other dogs he has started barking constantly and strains to get at them. I have tried introducing him to other dogs slowly and gradually as I thought he wanted to play and he has a sniff at first and then starts barking again and then lunges at them. I have had to pull him back and told him NO even bending down and tapping his nose saying "naughty" as he knows what this word means in the house, but he won't shut up. Yet some dogs, he doesn't do it and is fine with them (90% though he will). The problem is, this is now affecting my other llhasa who now copies and has run at other dogs showing similar aggression (he is normally off the lead when in the park as he has been okay) but now I don't trust him either Anyone had any similar experiences and know the best way to rectify this problem? Admittedly we have only had him a few weeks and I know these things take time, but it's a bit embarrassing as they both look like aggressive little dogs in the park now. I want them to be fine with other dogs and eventually play off the lead happily together. I guess they both need disciplining together and taught it is wrong to do this, but together they can now be a handful in the presence of other dogs. I wonder if it's because one of them is on a lead and one isn't?!? But I daren't let the new boy off the lead yet as he isn't ready. Thanks for any advice/recommendations Caz

I know :( I am so gutted, I just can't believe it. I was so lucky last time in getting him back - I hope with all my heart this happens again. I will be going round again yes as soon as I can. I am trying to get off work early. I need to check all the roads around Parkside road and round the back gardens as that is where he will wander I'm sure.
