  1. Paul has just completed three jobs for me. Renew wooden guttering. Remove and re-slate our out house ( fitting a new timber which was rotten ) Remove and re-cover our Bay window top. He quoted for the job the first weekend, I had other quotes but Paul came over as a nice bloke and feedback was good so I set him on. He's done a great job on all 3 counts despite the windy weather that we always get up here. Always cleaned up and removed all rubbish so I have no hesitation in giving him 10/10. Paul Eshelby roofing
  2. R.I.P Trevor. A gentle family man with great skills. I first men Trevor during the first year of running the Littlemesters site. Not only did I sell hundreds of his knives worldwide but we remained good friends for the next 10 years.
  3. The Quarry top has now been sealed off and we are not able to use the well used path that we have used since 1981. I have included a few snippets from the planning permission in 2005, maybe anyone out there who is knowledgeable in rights of way could help. Are we entitled to free access after all these years ? Bearing in mind there is a well maintained substantial fence at the quarry edge to prevent anyone getting to close? The proposed development shall include public pedestrian links to the pathway adjoining the southern boundary of the site in accordance with details to have first been submitted to and approved in writing by the Local Planning Authority. Such public pedestrian links shall thereafter be retained. The site has been partially fenced off but the chain link fencing is broken down in several places and there is evidence of pedestrian access in both areas. An informal pathway has been worn alongside the edge of the quarry between the broken chain link fencing and a substantial palisade security fence. Although the pathway is well worn, it is not a public footpath or legal right of way. The more obvious value of the land is the link it provides to the informal pathway that has been worn alongside the edge of the quarry face. Although this pathway is not recognised as a legal right of way, it is clearly well used and provides a valuable link to Derbyshire Lane. Links to the quarry edge path should be maintained, in accordance with Policy H15. This requirement can be conditioned. The proposals provide an opportunity for turning heads to be provided in each of the three highways which will bring significant benefits to road safety. Links to the well used quarry path can also be incorporated in the detailed layout. Such benefits are considered sufficient to justify the recommendation that planning permission be granted subject to conditions.
  4. I used to sell Sheffield made cutlery, pewter, silver and carving sets. I still have a few items left ( brand new ) if you are still looking. Stag handled 3 pce carving sets some in wooden presentation cases. email me at nigel@littlemesters.com
  5. Has everyone heard about this? The Russian rhythmic gymnasts are opening up their training session before they compete next week in London. It's at the arena tomorrow, limiting it to 2000 people but apparently there are a few tickets left. The link is here https://www.sheffieldboxoffice.com/sheffieldarena/online/mapSelect.asp?BOset::WSmap::seatmap::performance_ids=C136D20D-84FC-4AE1-AEAA-890DC43511C5 It's free entry but you have to have ordered your ticket. Got mine today!
  6. Hi There, I want to find some French lessons for beginners in Sheffield. I work in the City centre + live in Meersbrook. Does anyone know of any lessons after 6pm in either of those areas? Ta x
  7. I think this sounds amazing!! Everyone who was moaning about not having pop can go see acts at Sheftival!! If you look at the music alone, it's worth the ticket price - And there's something for everyone. Toots and the maytals solo show tickets are £22 Then there's the pop lineup, if you went to a pop concert at the arena then you'd easily be paying £25 quid and above. The Noisettes, Marcus Collins and now Lemar with the promise of more acts to be announced is crazy. The organisers of Sheftival should be proud, and all you 'Haters' should get a life. Don't go if you don't like it. x
  8. Hi Guys, I've just had a look at the star and seen something about a new festival Called Sheftival. It looks great! And it's cheap enough for me to take all the family. Anyone else know anything about it / is going? I've been having a look on the internet and have a got a brief idea, but want some more info and to see what everyone else thinks of it? Ta x

  12. Anyone out there got a spare ticket for Tuesday, or unable to go ?
  13. I don't know if anybody else noticed but did you see the body language of Neil Warnock when he subbed Kabba? Never even acknowledged him at all, in contrast to when Unsworth came off. Not a great game today but still 3 points ! I got the impression from todays match that they need to talk more on the pitch, a lot of time passes were going to fresh air and competing for the same ball ! I agree with what Neil said about Jags covering every blade of grass, he must be knackered. We still need a commanding midfield player, Monty is OK as a defending midfielder even though he planted one in today ( had chance of scoring 2 today !) Danny Webber gets my vote, he's got tons to come yet especially when he get to play in his best position. Shipps worked hard, always difficult up front as a target man. I could mention all of them but I'm not here to do a match write up.......... I just think they need a rest and get some quality training ground time in. Up the blades, oh and can we have some more leg room on the kop, it like flying on a package holiday.
  14. I am made in Sheffield and still sell geniune "Made in Sheffield" goods from my 3 web sites. I pool my knowledge of the trade and buy from these individuals and companies. 15. Congratulations Neil on stopping to finish the job. Money isn't everything, anyway I was down in Pompey when I was in the RN in the 70's and there's nowt there to shout about. Once a Sheffielder always a Sheffielder. I used to have that famous picture of Tony Currie and Alan Birchenall sat on the pitch on the inside of my locker........... I took a lot of stick over that. No doubt others today in the RN that are blades will have the front page of the star on theirs.........100 % BLADE. NEIL WARNOCK. If you read this Neil ( or any other Utd players ), I suffered on the KOP watching Millwall nearly do us. I would love to watch us show Wed's a footballing lesson but..........I DON'T HAVE A TICKET, CAN'T GET ONE, TRIED EVERYTHING. If anyone wants to make an older Blade happy then get in touch with me and offer me a ticket. Nigel
