  1. NEMESIS TRAVEL PROUDLY SUPPORT BABY LEO AND THE SHEFFIELD CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL On Saturday the 17th July 2010 we are holding a sponsored walk in aid of 2 very worthy causes. Around 50 people will be walking from Coronation Park in Maltby to Clifton Park in Rotherham. We will be holding a raffle and having collections along the way. The first is to help the memory of Baby Leo to live on; we are hoping to raise enough money towards the cost of Baby Leo’s headstone. Leo was still born on the 25th May 2010 and we would like to support his Mum Sarah in this fantastic cause. Sarah is well known in Maltby and needs your support. The second is the Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity. The Children’s Hospital Charity enhances the work in 4 key areas; Providing Specialist Medical Equipment Research into the prevention and cure of childhood illnesses New facilities to extend the range of treatments provided Improvements to the hospital environment for the benefits of patients How you can help us. 1. Donate a prize for our raffle. 2. Make a cash donation. 3. Join in the sponsored walk (£1 entry fee). 4. Come and join the crowds to support us.

It does not matter if the company are in Chesterfield they can still pick from Sheffield and drop off in Sheffield if they so wish.

  14. it seems the staff will do anything to sell you a contract with the looks of things, and when you do try to get hold of them you get no where at all. i am back with 02 direct now and thats where i am staying will never try car phone warehouse ever again after this.
  15. i recently took a new contract out with Car phone warehouse and was told iwould get half price line rental roll over minutes and my insurance would be £25 every 3 months after my 2nd bill i had no roll over minutes so i called there customer services and was told that plan did not have rollover minutes so i asked about the half price line rental and was told the same, even though it was written on my contract. i tried for weeks to get a manager to deal with it i emailed there customer service team also head office with no joy i went back in to the store where i took it out without any joy, each time i called they customer services team i was placed on hold, phone disconnected or just was passed from one person to another. after 8 weeks now it is finally resolved i have cancelled my contract and gone to 02 direct who have been great really looked after me and actullay given me what they stated in the contract. i would never use them again after this. anyone else with problems ????
  16. just to let everyone know RAC have paid the rest of the money in full. thanks for the advice
  17. hi yes i do have legal cover on my home insurance and with my car insurance too i think i will contact them and get some advice thanks
  18. Thanks Magilla i hope i will get it back. I have already started proceedings through the small claims court and the documents have been sent direct to the RAC, RAC have had an invoice and reports and so on. if i could get it in to the papers i would let people know there a waste of money. lol thanks again
  19. Hi GNOMI i am actually with the AA too i pay for one and get one with my insurance which is the RAC i called the AA first but they said it was a 2 hour wait, so i called the RAC i wish now i had waited the 2 hours. My solicitor said that because rac have paid something towards the costs and they did not state in writing at the time of the payment it was a good will gesture then it automatically passes liability to them. it was only after they had paid that and then there was an additional £1000 costs with a further problem which was caused at the same time but was not diagnosed until the cam was fully fitted and working, when the garage sent the invoice it stated on the bottom that there may be additional costs incurred, The RAC also sent an authorisation to the garage by fax stating that they would pay the full costs to get the car back on the road. so they are responsible for the extra cost but just will not budge. i have technical and expert reports about the damage but they now say that there technical advisor states that the original damage may have been done when the car was in traffic, renault and the diesel specialist say thats not possible because the car was attempting to start when the Patrol arrived but when they had done it was not. renault say that the damage was done when the patrol tried to keep starting the car. Renault and the other specialists have seen the car and examined the engine. this technical advsior from the RAC is only making an assumption without any evidence so i can not see how they can dispute the rest of the amount when they have paid so much. We will have to see what is going to happen, i could do with contact the press and letting them run a story on it but i doubt they will thanks
  20. so there not all as good as they say then. just shows you
  21. Several weeks ago my car broke down so i called the rac out they sent someone from the rescue group the man who came out had not got a clue he said it was the starter motor but it was trying to start so it could not be so he then said its the main battery cable so he cut the main battery cable and tried to replace my laguna battery cable with ford transit one which was not strong enough then put a charge through it which blew the fuses, cables and starter motor totally because the cable was not right. he then said it needed to go to the garage but he said first he'd replace the fuses he had blown which were 70amp with 30amp ones because he had no others, by the time he had finished the car was not attempting to start it was doing nothing, i asked the patrol to get an actual RAC van out which he did, when he arrived he would not touch the car and took it straight to the garage. garage ordered a new starter motor, new cables and fuses which were blown, these took several days from dealers. when it was all finished the car still would not start so they looked in to it and found it was the cam belt which had actually gone originally and not the starter motor, the patrol who came out should have checked this first but instead he went on trying to start the car which caused a lot more damage than it would have done if it had just been took to the garage, i was stook in traffic when the car broke down, renault say at that speed it would have done little damage, but because of this guy from rescue groups several attempts to start the car ended totally damaging the engine cam, valves the lot costing over £3500 to get it fully back on the road, RAC admitted liability but only paid £2500 and said they would not pay the rest saying the amount they paid was a good will gesture only so now i am trying to get the additional money back. if the car was just taken to the garage it would have cost £445 for a new cam belt and kit. i have provided evidence from renault stating this and also diesel specialists but there not going to pay anymore. sorry its long winded. has anyone had anything like this before if so what happened? thanks
  22. Thanks whisper, we do try and offer a great service. Wyseowl for someone to offer a taxi service to and from airports or anywhere really they must be licensed by the council unless they’re offering a free service then obviously it does not matter because there doing it as a favour. Firstly i would call the company who took you back and tell them you have been in touch with sheffield council licensing and that you have been informed that there licensed is expired and not been renewed and that you require a full refund, if he does not refund you fully ask him for at least the outward journey price because this is where you had the problems, if then he still will not i would contact licensing on 0114 2726444 and ask for licensing or you can email them on [email protected] and i would make them aware of your complaint and see what happens then, the problem is that he is currently trying to get his licence renewed and taking jobs without his licence and the council finding out then its not going to help him when it comes up to his appeal so maybe you need to put your foot down when you call him and tell him you will report him, can i also make it clear that the law states under the sales of goods and services act that if you are not happy and you have a valid reason you are entitled to a full refund after all this is classed as a service. Do you mind me asking how much you paid and how many people travelled? There is one thing to bear in mind though was it definitely REM travel who picked you up all because he is advertising he may have sent someone else who was fully licensed, we tend to pass work on to other licensed companies within sheffield or Derbyshire dales area. You need to check that out first before you do anything. Give the owner a ring like i said and see what he says, then take it further if he will not refund you. Good luck
  23. Hiwyseowl i have just got off the telephone with sheffield council taxi licensing office REM TRAVEL is not a licenced taxi company nor drivers, i have also spoken to the federation and he is not listed as licenced with any other council, for a taxi to take you to the airport it and the driver must be licenced by a council like us we are fully licenced through derbyshire dales and our drivers are fully insured for private hire, the only time they do not have to be licenced through the council is when the vehicle is over a certain amount of seats but then the driver needs to licenced through VOSA.you should really check with the driver to which council they are insured with and make sure the driver has identification with them, either a taxi badge or something from the company they work for and it should have the drivers full name and picture on with a signature and contact details of where to get the badge verified. REM TRAVEL were licenced through Sheffield council but have not renewed there licence so currently do not have an operators licence. next time you are thinking of booking ask the operator if they are licenced and you can always ask them for a opy of it, i am alsways please to email or send a photo copy of our lience to anyone if they wish to see it. Any genuine company will have no problems doing this at all, you should also try and get someother number other than mobile, we have landline and freephone numbersa plus owners mobiles are always availlable to customwers if they wish. take care and good luck next time. paul rhm cars owner
  24. Please dont think all taxi companies are the same we mainly do airport transfers and as of yet we have never let anyone down and we have always been there on time for them. Next time give us a go if your booking for airports we are only a small company and we do care. you find that the bigger companies dont really care because its not there problem with us we like to think that you will come back to us time and time again. The best people to book with are people that are fully licenced and also companies who advertise as airport transfers.
  25. Just to add to my previous post- if its the first time you are using a taxi service to take you to the airport then can i suggest that you pay them only for the outward journey and pay the balance when you have arrived back home. unless its one of our many regular customers then we only ask for half the fare on the outward journey. you shoud also make sure that the company taking you are licenced with a council. we are licenced through derbyshire dales district council we operate around the dales area also operate in sheffield area. All our drivers have identification badges and RHM CARS uniform so please do not mix us up with this REM TRAVEL company For any further information please look at our website: rhm-cars.co.uk for bookings please contact us on 0800 169 1422 or 01629 814448 we have up to a 7 seater vehicle. thanks again Paul - RHM Cars Owner
