  1. my granddaughter is not a LIAR.she is being brought up to know the difference between good and bad,and right and wrong.it was only a couple of weeks previous that he had KICKED another little girl in the face.he is also known to go taking other kids lunches from their school bags.what has his mother done?threatened to assault my daughter for speaking up,and the boys 11 year old sister got very verbal with my 10 year old granddaughter because her brother had got himself into trouble.his punishment at school was to be taken out of the class and taken to the I t room to play with lego.my 5 year old granddaughter still has the butterfly stitches on her head,3 weeks on,because its still healing.shes also small for her age.my daughter made this public, not only to protect her little girls, but to stop these sort of things happening to anyone else, after all,had it been a couple of inches lower, she could have lost an eye.would my daughter have still been classed as a "drama queen",an "attention seeker",or "looking for compensation",i doubt it,and probably peoples reactions and comments would be different.my daughter and son in law put their girls first always.its called caring.and this lad seems to focus on girls to bully.if hes not stopped now, maybe when he gets older,he may get a kick out of hitting his girlfriend,or even being a wife beater.it HAS been known to happen.my daughter thought she was doing the right thing.but gets slated for it.maybe she should have kept her mouth shut, and just waited for the next child to get injured.n no,i,m not a drama queen either, theres enough badness in the world, without it starting with kids as young as 5 year old.
  2. it wasn't a toy chair,it was a school chair, and the teacher was bent down next to him when he was swinging the chair.there seems to be a vendetta going now against my daughter for trying to do right by her little girl.shes no drama queen, and as I keep pointing out, shes NOT after no compensation.like people keep implying.surely every parent wants their kids to go to school knowing that theyre in a safe environment.my 2 year old granddaughter knows the difference between right and wrong, its how they've been taught.its called good parenting, and theres nothing wrong with trying to protect your children.
  3. we had this argument with our neighbour, because we paid for all the fencing round our garden, and he tried laying claims on it on our left hand side/his right hand side, even though the fence was built before he,d even moved into the property.when we first got written permission to take out the hedge, and install a fence,we were told that it was our responsibility to maintain it,which we have done.i was so upset at our neighbours arrogance, that I went to the council.the asbo officer came out to look, and we were told that the fence IS ours .his fence is to THE LEFT of his property.i believe that the fence is classed as yours, but you could check with the council.if u,v got a decent neighbour, maybe he will go halves with you.good luck whatever happens floriepop.
  4. apparently, the lad swung the chair round twice, before launching it on the 3rd spin.it was the school who rang my daughter, bandaged my granddaughters head, and suggested that she should be taken to hospital.ive been hearing a few stories about this lad.kicking little girls in the face and such like.no one expects their kids to go to school to be assaulted.if the lad was older,it would be classed as bullying.it needs to be stopped before some real serious harm is done.no ones attention seeking, and no ones looking for financial gain.it shouldn't have happened in the first place.
  5. when u,v all done.no ones trying to claim any money.compensation is not even an issue here.it was a wooden school chair, with the metal ring on the bottom, not a toy chair, that was launched at my granddaughter.it was swung round 3 times before the lad threw it.its NOT the first time theres been issues with this lad.if any of my kids had done anything like this when they were young,i would have sorted them out myself, with the appropriate punishment, and not gone threatening the mother myself with assault.thats not good parenting.its just amazing, how many people knew what had happened, and told my daughter to take it further,so that it can never happen again, but are now slagging her off.why everyone should think that my daughter is just after compensation is beyond me.just because that's what most people would do these days.my daughter just wants to do the right thing for her daughters.is that so wrong.
  6. brian 1941.that comment made me laugh.
  7. hi.if you still need to rehome any bigger fish, weve got 2 ponds.the biggest being 18ft long xabout 8ft wide.message me if you need to .thanks.
  8. there was a very big debate about this post yesterday and the day before.she kept changing her excuses for wanting to get rid of the puppy, and also changing the price of it,then finally the swap.when she was slated for being so uncaring with the dog,she tried saying she was "only messin".its disgusting and shouldn't have been allowed to be posted in the first place.some people have no morals.
  9. not everyone wants to be uprooted from long term tenancies.its one thing if the tenants want to downsize, but its another if theyre being forced into it.its as if us british are being punished.mine isnt empty space, the rooms are furnished for my family to stay, and my grandchildren aswell.
  10. my home is the only home weve had all our married life(35 years),and its not fair that we should be forced into moving if were settled.i,m not racist by any means, but there arent enough properties because theyre all being given to immigrants.i dont want to be forced out of my home, but i dont know if we,l be able to pay the extra rent for spare bedrooms.we sometimes have family staying, and our grandchildren, and if we had to move,we,d have knowhere to accommodate them.this country has become such a joke.theres no wonder every tom, dick and harry is coming in to sponge off the state, and its us british thats having to pay the price.all this worries me sick, because i love MY HOME.
  11. i spent most of the summer holidays at longley baths in the early 70s with my school friends.it was a cheap day out and our parents always knew where we were.you always had to watch for getting a mouth full of bees or wasps when you were in the pool.but it was fantastic.it would be fantastic if they could give us a pool back.hathersage does have one,and its heated.thats brilliant too,but its abit far out.if it didnt get abused,i think sheffield folk would benefit from one.but thats not likely to happen is it.incidentally, back then,i was known as jayne johnson.those were the days.boo to older age.
  12. the thurcroft gala is for a very good cause.my brother in law lived in thurcroft village up until passing away from cancer in march just gone.i hope its a good day for all who attend, and i hope you raise lots of money for the cause.good luck.
  13. i would steer well clear of it.they,l probably ask you at some point for your bank details to deposit the money for you,and then empty your account.good luck with that.
  14. we bought the sky+hd box yesterday from someone at gleadless.wer,e at firth park.a viewing card came with it.but when my hubby set it up this morning, the news programmes were set for another region.we didnt know that you could reset the box,but we,l try that.any help is appreciated.so thanks you guys.jayne.
