  1. I'm going to Glastonbury, not been for 11 years! Going with my children this time, so won't be quite the same as the good old days! I need to buy a cheap caravan, if anybody knows of any going cheap, because the thought of traipsing kids& all the tents etc from the car is too much!! Actually a bit nervous it will of changed too much... Also going to Bearded Theory, as it's reasonably close, so a good pre-Glastonbury warm up! Would like to go to Shambala also, but can't imagine we'll afford that aswell!
  2. It would be a real shame to shut it. I am 33 and grew up in Sheffield, but now live in Derbyshire. I loved western park museum as a child, I can still walk around most of it in my head as it was... Now,I have 3 children, and we visited the museum once after it was done up, and it was awful in comparison, none of us have ever had the urge to go back. Sheffield is rubbish for free cultural days out. My 12 year old recently had a school free day, so we went to the Graves, it was better than nothing, but as far as other art galleries I have visited in other cities, nationally and internationally it is a very small collection. When I was his age I also liked to pop in at the Ruskin, when I went to town. I liked this painting,at the Graves, it is just up the road from where I live now. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_NvJkT6g7wmg/TFaIiX57MkI/AAAAAAAAAFQ/45H-xtxnL5Q/s1600/derbyshire+walls+-+harry+epworth+allen+%281894-1958%29.jpg
  3. Worth checking what they have in the sale. http://www.tripp.co.uk/
  4. Stick them on freecycle, someone will be glad to makd use of them, I know I would, but you'd too far for me.
  5. That's beautiful, like the way you've put it together. I live in the Hope Valley reminds me how lucky I am, one of the most beautiful places in the world.
  6. Not sure exactly what you want, or if it's still there, but there used to be a fancy dress shop next to ths ice cream sweetie shop( grannelis?) of ponds forge round about that sold good quality fancy dress make up. If that's any use! Otherwise for general quality face paints ( snazaroo and grimas are good makes) most fancy dress shops sell them.
  7. Thanks, I've been watching this one,it seems to be the only thing near on ebay at the moment. I think its a cheaper rip off version though, as its called a skintboard. Not sure though, and if I find no other might give this one a shot. I did ask the seller if it would be possible to see what the underside is like, and what the build quality is like. He replied in quite a rude abrupt way, with no photos. So it puts me off buying off him, and reconfirms its possibly not great quality. No point me buying something that won't take the hammering its going to get! Thank you all for trying to help, side winder does ring a bell. I'l have a hunt under that name.
  8. Hi Thanks, but he has got a rip stick /castor board/ wave board thing. It's the old style snakeboard he really wants, it works on a completely different movement. but thank you any way.
  9. All my son wants for Christmas is a snakeboard. I can't find one any where, has any one seen them on sale in Sheffield or online, or have one they would like to sell? I think they were a bit of a phase 10-15 years ago, my brother has one, and sons wanted one for ages. they look like this http://www.jsk.t.u-tokyo.ac.jp/~noda/snake/whatis-e.html
  10. Here you go. http://www.thestar.co.uk/headlines/241-FREE-skate-offer-at.6641472.jp
  11. Not sure if this offer still applies but my mum mentioned last week sometime that if you take a copy of the Star from the day your on you get the ice skating cheaper, might be worth a try.
  12. haha fritters also made me smirk! I go between auto correction on and off as both ways can be annoying! to turn off auto correction (though don't your errors make smiles!) go to settings>general>keyboard>auto correction.
  13. Don't know for sure, but there's a brilliant sweet shop in Castleton, on the right as you first get to the shops( before the bus terminus) have loads of sweets, not cheap, but worth a visit, loads of forgotten goodies.
  14. I was going to say Eyres mill at Brough, would be a good bet. ( just down the road from me!) be warned though they are not open at the weekend, but do a late night in the week.
  15. There's s Facebook page called ride Sheffield, if you want to meet other riders.
  16. She has one!! And wears it with pride regularly!
  17. I just checked to see if there are any on ebay ! (there isn't!) Was just thinking that would be a great pressie for my friends 40th in January. She is HMHB mad, her last birthday party was themed, any character from a HMHB song, bonkers!
  18. Castleton. http://www.derbyshire-peakdistrict.co.uk/castletonchristmaslights.htm
  19. I saw a great one in Bradwell, Hope valley yesterday. Dont know how to add a picture here, but I did on facebook. My MIL is into lots of conspiracy theories, one of her most frequent ones being chemtrails. To be honest I dont take much notice of her ,but she is convinced the government sprays us with illness and stuff to dumb us down etc. she sent this link to be honest I find her theories quite paranoid,or maybe that is easier than believing it?! But it does seem a little strange when I google this, how they suddenly seem to be more common globally?
  20. Someone has one up on the classified sales section on here.http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=648587
  21. Any on at all 2moro morning (bank holiday Monday)? Henny Penny, thanks for letting me know Bakewell was not good, nice to know we didn't miss out, as it happens we never got to there,it got too late and kept drizzling,so we went up Win hill instead! We have my nephew staying and he is eager to get to a carboot,so 2moro is his only chance! Though has to be morning as they are off to the Wednesday match at Hillsborough pm.
  22. We haven't been to a carboot in ages, usually Hope regulars! We would really like to get to one in the morning but does anyone know which is the best to aim for,Bakewell or Marsh lane? Looking for random bargains, quality clothes and gadgets..
