  1. My wife worked at Stanley's during that period, in the wages office. She enjoyed her time there and I liked it when she came home with the 'lucky bags' (if you remember them)!
  2. Hi Paul I think i have an idea who you are and alreadyhad thought of a way to get in touch through the knights family or via your wife as i work in housing. Thats if you are the paul im thinking of. My mmaiden name was karen parkin. Im not sure how to put it on fb but i am on there as karen O'Halloran. Anthony o'nion is trying to contact people too. Kazpa, sent you a PM.
  3. I went to St. Patrick's and St. Peter's. I will be sixty in October so probably know you. I'm not on facebook but my wife is, maybe you could send facebook page details so she can check it out. Regards, Paul T.
  4. I didn't go to Hatfield but I've known Graham Downs a long time, I recognised him straight away. Is Joan Turner in the picture Trevor's (Sam) sister?
  5. I'm with you on this one, never tasted any better. PS. I'll have a load of scraps on mine please!
  6. Thanks for your replies. Just a few more queries; Who do I contact for a Notice of Claim form? I've just received my invoice for ground rent and was thinking of serving the notice when I send payment; the company are notoriously hard to contact and never reply to calls or letters. This way I'll know they've seen it when I see the cheque has been cashed! Or as vincentb suggests would I be better involving a solicitor from the start and let him serve the notice? I've finally got the funds to do this now so I would like to complete as soon as possible. N.B. We purchased our home in 1985 on a 99year lease, so 68 years remaining.
  7. I intend to buy the freehold of my property. I will write to the landlord and inform them of my decision and ask for their valuation of said freehold. Is this the correct way to start the proceedings? Any advice appreciated. Maybe Jeffrey Shaw could help? Thanks in advance.
  8. Contact Yorkshire Water, I believe they can supply plans of your drains and sewers for a fee. Try their web site I think the information is on there.
  9. Two of my sisters worked for Rodger's in the sixties at Pond Street. I remember them occasionally bringing home loads of pen knives which hadn't got past quality control;they were good enough for us and our mates though!
  10. I refuse to believe that anyone's chips, past, present or future could better or even equal those of the Paragon. I'd gladly queue half way up Sicey like they did in the old days to sample a tanner's worth of such potato delight again. Oh, and don't forget, scraps on mine.
  11. I got some from a place but I can't remember the name, it's on Nutwood Trading Estate and is a bit out of the way. Go up Claywheels Lane and turn right (opposite Rinus roofing) onto Limestone Cottage Lane, carry on under the bridge and turn left down into the estate. The unit is on the left at the bottom of the lane.I got coated sheets and fixings at a reasonable price. Hope that's helpful. Paul T.
  12. Margaret, some of my older brothers and sisters attended St. Pat's in the 60's but none on your list. The only name I recognise is Tommy Nestor who I believe was in the same class as my brother Sean. There were nine of us who were taught at St. Patrick's and afterwards at St. Peter's. Paul T.
