  1. Hi Do you have any issues with age? We are a mature lead guitar/singer and drummer who need bass player for club/pub work. Objectives - earn money while playing what we call something decent. I.E. rocked up pop, rock and baroque, 60s 70s and beyond. Sorry, no punk, grunge thrash or genres with limited appeal. Anticipate fairly busy schedule but not 8/11. Reliability and genuine enthusiasm preferred along with what your tin says:)
  2. Hah, I bet this has long gone. I'm a mature guitarist/vocals/front with 40 years experience on pubs, clubs, as solo, in trios and bands. I am reliable and hard working, own gear/transport. I play lead and slide and various acoustics when required. Preferences are 60s/70s/80s blues rock. Thin Lizzie, Gary Moore, Hendrixed-up versions of Ride Like the Wind, Abba or The Move. If you still have a need get back to me. I'm after a busy schedule but not about 7 days a week four weeks a month. Steady would be fine - well, Im a mature guitarist...
  3. Hi Stanley P Have you got sorted? I play guitar, sing & front bands. I have more experience than I care to admit but the audiences don't care:) I am looking to form a 3 piece semi/pro, to play WMCs etc using agencies. Vocals would be an advantage but attitude and reliability are top of the list. Tastes range from pop/blues/rock of the 60s through the decades and up to recentish - Gary Moore, Thin Lizzie. You seem to like plenty that I'd like. Gear and transport are also essentials. I'm not doing it for the love of music (entirely) nor simply for money (or I'd play any old….) but I'm not bothered about the rock and roll lifestyle. My focus is on well-rehearsed and presented music that entertains. Am chatting to others so there could be a band happening as I type… Alex
  4. There is an application going ahead for planning premission to build a motorway services in ancient woodland new Chapeltown. There are alternative sites more suitable and actually there is no real need. This is just developers after some profit and landowners who want shut of an unprofitable plot. In actuallity these woods are over 800 years old, they've survived fllods, fires, the building of the M1 and allsorts. I'm sure you don't need me to explain why such seemingly irelevant places have to be conserved; not just for the tree0huggers, birs and bees. But in order for the planet to continue as habitable for everyone. Please copy and paste either of the links below https://www.facebook.com/thewoodlandtrust?fref=ts http://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/campaigning/campaigns/smithy-wood-application

  6. Gosh, sharp as ever I'm very late catching up but does anyone know if the Dickens have got it sorted? I can't find a contact on line. Apparently SNAFU aren't doing bands anymore either. Crikey, what's happening to Rotherham? Mind you, when I lived there you either saw club bands or the likes of Lazy Jake once in a blue moon and then we had to find our own venue etc, charge on the door...

  10. Back to our fav twanging shop for the last time this year (officially). Live music in the form of original and covers blues rock in a 60s pop psychadelic vein. Great atmosphere, proper larrup with nice selection of whiskey or lager or other drinks. Nice crowd of people and as a band we like to have a laugh whilst delivering entertainment. We do it for love not money but as we're all loved up you may offer cash.... You can see more on facebook or google sites once you get past the other bands with (or is that without) the same name.
  11. Erm, I think I am as T100ss; so yeah I'm an old Trumpist. I also shamelessy promote this facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Band-With-No-Name/214013848654369?sk=wall It's new and I hope to update it shortly, meanwhile, if you like live music:- Original and cover blues/rock 'Band With No Name' at New Barrack Tav, Penistone Rd, October 21st Oh teah, and how come fewer and fewr riders nod these days? I know we ride focussed but I've usually got time for some acknowledgement - heck, I make time if there's a hazard i wish to warn other motorists about...
  12. Hi I know there's probably a million of you who are better guitarists than me, but I've gone and recorded some stuff since people ask about it at gigs. So if you want to buy or just criticise, please have a neb at: https://sites.google.com/site/alexjmoliver/ Whatever you do tell others please:)
  13. I got onto the road in 1970 - a bit later. Previous I was down the fields on a Banty, Franny & some New Hudsons - all around Rawmarsh. It is now though that I note some commonality. I.E. my 1962 Triumph Tiger 100SS, Kingfisher and Silver (though it's yet to be sprayed, it just has any old paint chucked on the barn fresh parts while reliability checks are failed and failed again:( It is running at last, now that I've scraped the ribs out of the distributor cap. I was getting six sparks instead of two and it was just arcing all over. Othrwise I'm on an SV 650S. I don't do meetings to much - the BMPS concours, a few rallies. Mostly off on lonesome blasts or camping/B&B with my other half. She had her own bike until health interrupted the madness (SRX 250 Sports). We both biked while young and drifted away, and agree one of the best things we ever did was get back into it. Done Costa Rica, Nepal and Cambodia on bikes now. I just love the challenge of Asian traffic TATA seems apt when it's probably the last thing you'll ever read....
