  1. I meet up with old school friends once a month we ve tried various places childrens play areas child friendly pubs( the ones with a family area). I don t think rowdy pubs are a place for children but if it's a family meal and child friendly then I think that's fine. I wouldn't t allow my children to run round with forks or food, but I m not going to lie and say they haven t pushed the boundaries. I never went near a pub with my kids as babies but if you take this approach they can t learn how to act in a sensible manner out in public having a meal and I suppose we all have to have a life that isn t entirely filled with child entertainment. When I go out without my kids I avoid the child friendly pubs. I do always tell my children when they are showing unacceptable behaviour however many times I have to get up from my seat but I think some parents ignore their childrens behaviour so they don t have to deal with it.
  2. No one dares to stop them these days I was in mapplin on Sunday in town a month or so ago and saw a bloke walk out with a large box told shop assistant immediately but they just acted as if it happened all the time. I felt like saying something but you don t always cause you know what can happen!
  3. I assume they worked local which seems sensible to me think they should now on a long term basis but I appreciate they have to get work where they can
  4. So if there's a lot opposing this then why don t we all do something about it?. I have heard this was once to be introduce over near northern general way yes back the residents got together and it never went ahead. it seems council have sent us all leaflets now there saying it goes on majority but no one can tell me majority have voted for permits especially the local buisnesses. Think the council are having a laugh and the charge will never stay at 20p once it's done there's no going back.

But that said didn t look overly young like some used to go in vault first for pound a drink very classy lol dancing on tables was allowed then these days you d be chucked out.

  7. Just read your thread beginning to end think you have done well to follow what you feel to be the right thing with everyone elses opinions! I hope sometime soon there's a happy end and you finally get to meet your brother i think you ve put a lot of thought into what's right and how your brother will feel which is wise if you were my brother I d be pleased that you d cared so much I suppose we don t know your brother has any knowledge of his situation or does he? but I think I d want to know my roots I d love to know how you get on however it all turns out if not on her via email take care x
  8. If the lollipop lady had recieved more support they wouldn't t need to be looking for a new one can t believe a parent of this school could actually do such a thing she was after all keeping our children safe this lady worked three jobs and was very reliable due to the hours it's not the easiest post to fill I think more should have been done to support her also agree it would be ideal for a local person and someone hopefully will want the job it is very busy at this juntion serving two schools at three different points to cross I have a job crossing let alone any children walking alone
  9. My other half did and they said it was never published by them! I m going to try the number theyhave given him but thanks for your response. Will also try the number you have given me and make sure myself that he hasn't t got his wires crossed thanks.
  10. Does anyone know where I can purchase this book it is for a gift but can t seem to get hold of one x
  11. Thought I was on my own in my thoughts thanks for that will definately get the petition in order.
  12. Don t know why anyone would buy in hillsborough if they were going to complain about the parking its what makes Hillsborough would be no shopping centre without the parking also see replys below to see comment on how the price of permits could rise in the future!.
  13. Some people don t care and so long as it doesn t concern them If people stuck together more on their issues then maybe more would get done. Having said that I tend to suspect its unreslovable as they need the money, and are very often driven by an urge to feed an habit.
  14. Homemade food(with veggie options) cosy, friendly atmosphere I love country pubs to have old style decor its inkeeping with that period the log burner sounds perfect. In a country pub you will always attract dog walkers so have to cater for them. I don t mind this but having small children prefer to see dogs on the lead in these kinds of premises. To the person who said no kids I appreciate we all like kid free zones sometimes(If the pubs big enough may cater for both). However country pubs attract walkers a lot of these walkers do come with children! We all have to eat, drink etc and we have all been a child at some point. We have taken our kids to strines recently and they love it there.
  15. Who needs bloody sainsburys what with the asda been built at side of chaucer think that s a bad idea aswell! All that traffic bang at side of school. Back to travellers isn t this something to do with fletchers needing money to rebuild? may be wrong but will support your cause. Enough supermarkets getting daft.
  16. I would also like to petition about this if anyone is interested as this is a topic I feel strongly about others on my street said they would be happy to oppose permits.
  17. I Hate the idea of parking permits in hillsborough. I live in central Hillsborough and have found that our road is not too bad. People come and go all day but I knew this before purchasing my house and haven t found it to be a problem. Parking permits could ruin Hillsborough I live here, if i didn t I wouldn t pay on principle! No shoppers = no buisnesses. The council also intend to put single yellows over driveways that sounds great at first. After thought my thinking is that it grants a right over the space outside your house one that could affect you more in the future than now, things do change over time. Bet the 20p parking will soon shoot up!. I cant beleieve local people support this. Over by the northern general this scheme was once going to happen there and residents got together and the decision was overturned. Am I on my own in my thinking? we already pay a council tax bill we will now have to pay for people to visit our house! (visitors permits.)If you have a car on street any additional cars you ll have that to pay for too. May look good at first but don t be fooled its the council! The prices won t remain low!
