This was on the front page of the star not so long ago they didn t take long!. They introduced parking permits and the 2 hour short stay round Hillsborough so guessed that would be coming. We petitioned on our road and amazingly we don t have this in force on our road (for now) wish more people would do the same they did say this was the residents choice, but with all i ve seen about council and how they aren t meeting targets recently in the paper something tells me its all to do with money!. The wardens are out in force all time at the minute in hillsborough.

I live in the malin bridge catchment and mine go else where lol!. However i know that there are a few come from outside the catchment area from talking to parents who i know with children there and from chatting to people on their way back from school. Priority goes to the children in the catchment then any spaces after that usually go on the distance you are from school in a straight line on the map. It is a big school with 2 reception classes a year they were on about having three i m sure at one point but weather or not they have i m not sure. Just depends how many children want to go there in that year group which no one can answer till the time i d definately try then your in with a good chance.

I get why they want school uniform but i don t get why they send them home in the middle of the day affecting their education and giving children who may not want to go to school an afternoon off . Also lots of parents are at work during the day I know these children are young adults but i wouldn t want my children sent home to an empty house in the middle of the day. I think it would be sufficient to inform the parents of the problem ready for the next school day.

I know you said sheffield but just for future referance theres one called simply skate rotherham not always busy and they do special offers but would have to call them as not sure when they may also advise when its least busy!

I bet this post has sparked a big reaction! I think people have a right to stand up for what they believe but abortion is not an easy way out, people involved have to live with that decision for the rest of their lives. Either way its not an easy decision to come to i m sure. I love how people say 'shouldn t get pregnant in the first place.' The only way of 100% preventing pregnancy is not having sex so whos up for that then?. Contaception is not 100%. I m sure there are lots that take unnecessary risks, but there are also people that dont and still have an unwanted pregnancy. Should they carry on with that pregnancy to suit other peoples beliefs even if it is not in their own best interest. These decisions affect the whole family including existing children. Not everyone has plain sailing pregnancy, birth, having more children for some can be high risk. Is that fair if your already a mother with other young children to care for. I m sure theres people who will mention adoption sparking a new debate, but again thats a personal decision. I m sure theres lots of lovely families that would love to have children but can t but that doesn t mean that people who can but don t feel they can go ahead with pregnancy should do so to give them up, affecting not only their own life but that of their families along the way .

They are left out if a majority ask for this, however it is reviewed frequently so requires repeat petitions. It is not a probationary period to which you can opt out as first thought! Which ever roads have these permits they are now permanent. But you can opt on at any time, funny that! In the papers other week that council are not meeting targets with these schemes people are a little naive if they think costs won t increase over time.

I haven t read all the posts,but Theres been loads of accidents on rivelin valley. I think if there's any risk at all the trees should be cut back I drive up there a lot or should I say my other half does and there will always be the odd idiot on the road. That said if it could save lives then it would be worth it and they do need cutting from time to time so would it hurt if they did it sooner rather than later. If I was family of the victim this would be something I d campaign for, as I m sure they will/may given time.

A man was laid on the floor when i passed ambulance took him to hospital. There was a van nearby maybe he has been knocked over or maybe they are just looking into what happened.

I m all for school uniforms, however i was speaking to a friend this morning whos daughter will be attending forge valley for her final year. She mentioned that the cost of the uniform is expensive especially as she won t be in it long till she leaves. She too said she didn t like the uniform and neither did her daughter. I thought the idea was that the pupils and parents all got involved on issues like uniforms, logo etc. Isn t the skirt for girls compulsary? just wondered with someone saying about it not been feminine!.

What with the new parking restrictions hillsborough shopping will be lucky to survive!. I agree far too many hairdressers. I live in hillsborough but often end up going to town for kids presents, clothes shoes etc. Can always get my hair cut though!!

How very sad for her family and friends. I had seen all the posters as I m a local resident hoped she d turn up alive and well as I m sure everyone had hoped although obviously now that's not the case. Rip sally my thoughts are with your family.

I don t think it's mine to park on I m one of the lucky ones who has a drive! At the minute people can come and park as they please without charge which doesn't bother me if it did wouldn t have bought an house here!. I just personally don t see the problem it's not that busy on our road you ll always get the odd person who parks inconsiderately taking up two spaces but thatsaid there's usually lots of spaces on road anyway this proposed scheme is to help residents how can it possibly be beneficial to us having to pay to park outside our own house and for our visitors not to mention people visiting the shops to have to pay to park?. It's called making money!

I booked my children in to have this vaccine last week but cancelled as I did not realise the flu jab they had in oct contained swine flu too! I had no problem getting booked in for it one is asthmatic and one is under five my other child is not considered high risk. If you veiw nhs website it tells you who is considered high risk however there is a shortage! I have read they will be using older flu vaccines to cope with shortage which is a bit worrying considering nhs website states that the flu changes slightly each year therefore we need a yearly jab!. Tell soca if your high risk and ask if there's a waiting list for jab as I also know this has been the case at some surgeries

Been to lots of kids parties ski village, space fun zone and lots of other soft playareas butterfly house all already mentioned and much enjoyed. However if you want a party that isn t a fortune if you book bowling at Hollywood bowl at acertain time usually tea time ish (don't book as a party, but book enough lanes) you can eat drink and bowl for £3.95 I can recommend this as my own child did this as it was a cheaper option and meant we could invite lots more than usual. Great value! kids ramp to roll ball down and bumpers optional for little ones! Kids loved it. I wanted ski village toboganning but the price swung it! Failing that hire a room church hall etc and do your own face painting, colouring, music etc. Also been to a great street party which if you have off road parking he comes with a van, music gets kids dancing and doing games think you just supply prizes not sure of his name but will check yellow pages and pop it on. May not suit a winter party though!

re: hillsborough parking permits Meeting on Thursday the 13th of January 2011 at the Sheffield town hall at 2.00 regarding the opposition to the traffic regulation order in hillsborough. Any hillsborough residents living in the area where this scheme is proposed to take place may attend and may( if they wish) speak( limited time) to discuss why residents oppose the plan for a parking permit scheme.

It would concern me too!. Personally I wouldn t buy it. I don t know your circumstances but I wouldn t want to work all my liffe to hand my house down to kids and not know what will be happening with a lease. Also if you buy it and it has concerned you would it cause a problem when selling?. I think it would because there would be some people who see the length of the lease a problem as I do. There are lots of lovely houses and one always comes along, however if it's common to find this in new builds and you require this kind of house they may be harder to find I m not sure. I d definately want I longer lease if I was buying leasehold or a chance to purchase the lease.

Yes but would you want parking permits outside your house to pay visitors permits parking permits for you, your kids it may not seem a lot of money but it's a waste of ours! Parking on clarence isn t bad I can confirm that as I m there all day. I m happy for people to park outside mine does not bother me if it did I wouldn't t have chose to move here
