  1. thanks everyone for all your suggestions. I will check them out. think my partner would like to go and take his guitar for a bit of a jamming session!
  2. Fancied going to listen to some live music, jazz or acoustic stuff, any ideas, broke though so would have to be free!
  3. I havent found one on my doorstop, but Ive got one in my tummy!! Im just as shocked as if I had found it on the doorstop though!
  4. Bet nobody can remember the film, it was "Hey Lolipop" dont remember much about it, I know it was sad, American with a black boy in it, but that was my first!
  5. Dont know but hink hes the best thing on telly at moment, really genuine person. He has got 2 daughters I know that. But that still doesnt answer you question. Sorry
  6. Driving instructor let me down, so my Dad took over, he was brill. Yes things have changed since he passed his test, but he can pass on all his years experience of driving, anyone can steer a car, which you learn with instructor, the hard bit is driving, judging speeds of other cars, learning to drive with respect for other users, and reversing into parking spots, when everyone looking at you, I think you learn most when you have passed your test and drive on your own. Scary!!!
  7. I remember Queens Towers when my dad worked there, it was owned by an engineering firm, in the 1970s! It was great we used to go down on the weekend and pick wild blackberries. It was a great rambling old place, that my sisters and I had great hide and seek games in.
  8. my aunty used to live in Africa and had Hendersons on everything, chips, cheese sandwiches..... and she used to take cases of it back with her to Africa...furthest north you can buy it is Leeds
  9. I havent been for years, but I remember having great picnics at a place called Wyming brook (might not be right spelling!) It is in Lodge moor near the resevoir, you can sit on huge boulders and look at one of the resevoirs below and get eaten alive by midges! enjoy
  10. Obviously there is far too much violence on the telly, on the streets, playground, workplace....etc....etc... But at least on the telly you can always switch off, you cant switch your kids eyes off to the stuff they see on the streets around them every day
  11. my husbands got broken arms, he tried to catch it from the front!
  12. use a very large net, or if that fails use spike strips!!!! hope that helps if not makes you laugh
  13. enjoyed reading all about my past in these threads! what about mojos? sweet cigerettes and the icecream you used to get from the icecream man - were they called a screwball, they had a bubbly in the bottom and came in a plastic cone shape.
  14. yes I went to Birley infants, middle and Thornbridge, it was an ok school, I was there in the 70s and 80s. There was a big walk between classes between upper and lower school, I remember Mr Cutts the English teacher he was a right laugh
