  1. Thanks for that. Just the sort of thing I was looking for.
  2. Could anyone suggest a good place in/near Sheffield to buy a small lean-to greenhouse (not a flimsy plastic one that only lasts a year...) Many thanks Sylv
  3. Bonjour! I'm hoping to set up a French-speaking playgroup in Walkley from September. It'll be non-profit and parents will be expected to help out. The group will be run entirely in French and, although most children will have at least one native-speaker parent, it will be open to anyone hoping to bring up their children bilingually - I'm thinking of parents who have studied French or lived in a French-speaking country. If you would like any extra information please PM me your email address. A bientot, Sylvie
  4. heard on the news that there had been a break-in in a bank in stocksbridge. must be that one?
  5. There's graffitti all over the benches in the newly refurbished play area of Ruskin Park. I know who did because this lot - teenage girls - are stupid enough to write their names. But what do you do? Do you report it?
  6. I was on the 52 coming back from town today around 12.30pm. We stopped at the bus stop in Broomhill and a Stagecoach bus pulled in just in front of us. We had been waiting about five-ten minutes when our driver got out of his seat and came to ask passengers for their phone numbers. Apparently the same Stagecoach driver blocks him deliberately every day and he wanted people to back up his complaint. Does this happen all over Sheffield? Our driver did go out to try and talk to the other driver but I don't know what response he got..
  7. Napisan from Tesco in Upperthorpe.
  8. We hired st mary's church hall on south rd for our wedding reception. good facilities, clean, not too expensive.
  9. have you thought about lifting the blind and keeping the door open a bit more during the day? don't people like to look out when they're sipping their coffee? looks very nice inside anyway. good luck!
  10. I live on a busy street in Walkley which a lot of motorists use as a short cut. Unfortunately as it is wider than other streets, people tend to drive far too fast. There are a lot of children living on the street and it is rather dangerous. Residents of the street handed a petition to the council a few years ago but no action was taken because... there had been no accident. I am going to start a new petition but was wondering if anyone had tried doing this in their neighbourhood. I would be grateful for any advice. Thanks
  11. Raychul, you can have the ball after all! I've sent you a pm
  12. i'm afraid someone's already contacted me about the ball. if for any reason they don't want it i'll let you know. sorry.. and good luck for the home birth!
  13. I've got a big inflatable birthing ball that I no longer need. Good for ante-natal exercise and just sitting on it is meant to help the baby get into the right position, or so I was told. You can also use it to help deal with the early stages of labour. Or your partner might fancy it as a space-hopper... I live in Walkley
  14. Hello, I've got a Chicco baby carrier that we don't use after upgrading to a Bushbaby (we do a lot of walking). It comes with a rain-cover though I'm not sure how to put it on. I tried to give it to a charity shop but most don't take nursery goods anymore.
