  1. Just seen this: http://www.safetycamera.org/communications/latest-news/2014/sep/11/a6315-chapeltown-road--ecclesfield-road A6315 Chapeltown Road / Ecclesfield Road Sep 11 2014 Information about the change of speed limit. On the 5th September, Sheffield City Council implemented a change of speed limit on the A6315 Chapeltown Road / Ecclesfield Road. The existing 30mph speed limit has been extended to a point near Crakehall Road. This means that the existing fixed speed cameras which were within the 40mph speed limit, are now within the new 30mph speed limit. South Yorkshire Safety Cameras, being aware of this change, took the decision to stop using the fixed cameras before the new speed limit was introduced. They have also agreed with Sheffield City Council that the cameras will not be used for a period of time, to allow drivers to adjust to the new speed limit.
  2. Thanks guys, all very interesting. I live in Doncaster now but still work in Sheffield, in fact near to Broughton lane. I think i'll have to have a trip down on one of my days off to try and find maybe a map or some old photo's. Got the one that was suggested, gives me an idea of what i'm looking for.
  3. Hi ya all, I'm researching my family tree and have found out that my grandfather was born in 3 Court, Broughton Lane. I'm trying to find out what kind of life he had so any kind of information about this area from the 1920's would be great. I've driven down Broughton lane and the place doesnt seem to exist any longer and I cant find out anything about the place. Any pointers in where i should be looking would also be great. Thanks
  4. Is it me or dont these places exist in town? I'm looking for somewhere in town that you can sit and have a good meal and good conversation, without it being too far away from the town centre. Any recommendations people?
  5. I was going to ask the same thing myself. Twice today I was on the parkway coming off the motorway, and each time I saw the same thing. Outriders, police cars with flashy lights and another dark car in the middle of it all. WHO was it????
  6. Yep I fell for it. Sat here cursing....I was nowhere near Durham on the 1st May and then I checked the photo. Nice one
  7. Not a problem...................... PS. Watch out in Creswell when you come to the crossroads that you straight over, the police like putting speed traps about 100m down on the left in a garages forcourt! Found that one out for myself, £60 and 3 point for 34 in a 30 zone, copper must have had a bad weekend
  8. Have a look on here http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks.php?dvdplayer=Philips+DVD+956&hits=50&Search=Search Up to you if you give it a go though!!
  9. From Sheffield.......... I'd follow the A616 from Junc 30 of the M1. Down past Clowne, through Creswell. If I remember once you get so far down the A616 its signposted.
  10. Saw a big BBQ like this at Rother valley last year, sure we could do it there!
  11. Got to agree with every other reply on here so far. Wouldnt go along with this unless the money is in your bank. If it is, tell the buyer how much it will cost in postage and see what they say. Think the post office does international signed for, so someone will have to sign for it at the other end and make sure they take out the insurance as well so if it does dissapear you dont loose out.
  12. I know someone that can unlock most Nokias to other networks..............................ME
  13. Thanks for all the feedback guys, things arent any easier yet. I guess time will tell
  14. Talking about your problems is supposed to help so here goes! I moved back to Sheffield about five years ago and moved straight in with my girlfriend. Since I'd been away for such along time, I no longer had any friends here, so my small group of new friends has come from being with my girlfriend. Now we seem to have grown apart and want different things (so she tells me) and we are going our seperate ways. My problem is that i feel so alone, I work out on the road so i dont have any work mates and most of my neighbours are pensioners. I find it really hard to talk to strangers and havent got a clue about what to do from here on. So now I've joined the forum, guess its a starting point
  15. GKR karate runs classes at ST Giles church hall on Sheepcote Road. Its on firdays from 6 - 7pm i think. If you are interested give Steve Shaw a ring on 07659 591207 for more details. Sorry couldnt pm you back as only just joined the forum and havent completed my first five posts yet!!!!
