Hmm.. I`ve worked at Uni for agency, post retirement, and you would be well advised to go by the lift if you are travelling more than 4 floors say. It is deadly slow. As you would expect if people have to step on and off. Lots of freshers had problems initially, as you might expect, getting the timing right. It could be fun to watch them geeing themselves up to take the first step on.

Don`t know if anyone is still looking at these posts, but when I started working at Viners, September `61, it wasn`t long before I noticed they had huge amounts of "Blanks"; forged solids ready for pickling and processing etc down in the cellars under the firm.

In the very early sixties; late `61 on; I remember seeing him drive by on Broomhall St in his pink cadilac.To his mums I think someone told me. This was observed from one of the balconies that ran around the outside of Viners where I worked at that time.

My memory is not what it was;but didn`t they have a chap playing the piano of a Saturday night? We used to go in there early`ish sixties for a couple. Before going down to St Christophers? church hall further down Bellhouse Rd.
