Venue - Last Laugh Comedy, Sheffield City Hall Doors 7pm, show 8pm. Tickets - 01226743048 http://www.sheffieldcityhall.co.uk PAUL SINHA After last year's sell-out run, Paul returns to Edinburgh with his life, seemingly, still bordering on disarray. Having spent two decades juggling disparate careers, loneliness, heartbreak, a multitude of vices and an overwhelming urge to show off his general knowledge, he finds that just as one problem disappears, another suddenly emerges. Paul is 48 and is pondering the unthinkable. Is he past it? Was Shakespeare wrong? Are there only Two Ages of Man? ‘An utter treat’ ***** (EdFestMag.com). ‘Jam-packed with laughs’ ***** (One4Review.co.uk). ‘Comedy gold’ **** (Scotsman). **** (Times). **** (Chortle.co.uk) GORDON SOUTHERN - A man for two seasons Gordon Southern has successfully avoided winter for ten years, a feat only previously achieved by bees, some birds and most bears. He's been fluttering delightfully between summer and autumn on a decade-long repeat. August at the Edinburgh Fringe is the closest thing to winter Gordon ever experiences. But this show is about much more than weather, there's love, fame and jaw-dropping adventures in therapy. Seriously. This comedy show might even save your life. 'Feel-good comedy at it's best... Wildly entertaining and endlessly funny' ***** (BroadwayBaby.com). 'Top class all round' (Sunday Times).

This Fringe, White brings you more of the fun you saw on telly... plus lots of extra naughty bits! 'Pitch-perfect delivery... Just brilliant' **** (Chortle.co.uk). 'Jaw-dropping riot' **** (List). 'Robert White tries hard – and spectacularly succeeds' **** (ThreeWeeks). 12. The Last Laugh Comedy Club returns to the City Hall with a fantastic weekend of comedy this Friday and Saturday. JoJo Smith hosts Jamie Sutherland, John Ryan & Daliso Chaponda. All wrapped with DJ Foxy's infamous cheesey disco. Venue – The Memorial Hall, Sheffield City Hall Dates – Fri 12 / Sat 13 August 2016 Box Office – 01226 743048 Tickets - £18 / £10 NUS (no booking fees) http://www.sheffieldcityhall.co.uk Doors 7pm, show 8 30pm JOJO SMITH In the last 13 years JoJo has gone from open spot to late night TV personality, from global fame on the Internet to international comedy performer, not bad going for someone who until then had never stood on a stage in her life. International performances include two sold out tours of South Africa, Shanghai, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and both the Sydney and Melbourne comedy festivals. Her strong views had her proclaimed a feminist icon in Cape Town, and quite frankly the laid back Aussies wondered what had hit them. Safe to say she made quite an impact! A diagnosis of Repetative Strain Injury combined with an interview with the late, great Bill Hicks, gave JoJo the impetus she needed to take the plunge into the world of stand-up comedy, and she hasn't looked back since. "Raunchy comedienne, very, very, funny" London Evening Standard "It's worth seeking out Funny Business on ITV in the early hours of Sunday morning. JoJo Smith pulls off the difficult task of analysing comedy while being funny at the same time" Martin Kelner, Daily Mail "A manic force, leading where male stand-ups fear to tread" Sydney Morning Herald JAMIE SUTHERLAND Liverpool has a history for producing some of the countries finest comedy talent, and Jamie Sutherland can now be added to that fine list. A headline act on the comedy circuit, working for some of the countries finest clubs including Sheffield Last Laugh, Jongleurs, and Comedy Central. Jamie also provides pre match entertainment at Premiership club Everton FC. A very original act, who will keep you amused with gags, tales, and stories. Jamie is a modern act, with many observational topics, and up to date material, and dont worry if you prefer a good old style gag, he has plenty of them thrown in, ensuring a performance that will touch everyones buttons. Jamie is one of only a few comics that can tailor his performance to suit your audience, extremely popular with corporate clients, and he's equally at home performing to crowds at his nearby social club. He can be seen regularly at Brinsop Comedy Club, Bolton, were he has been resident compere since Nov 2005, he has supported some of the biggest names in comedy, and has gained a reputation as one of the rising stars of comedy with the sell out crowds, and his fellow comedians. Jamie has taken his show into Europe, entertaining the masses of holidaymakers, and in 2008 he stretched as far as Sydney, Australia. He has also had sell out shows 2011, 2012 Sheffield Comedy Festival. “undeniably brilliant” Chortle “Sutherland combines the two style of observational and story telling, and really is very funny.” The Stage JOHN RYAN John Ryan uses his acerbic wit and seemingly encyclopedic knowledge of the world around him to keep any audience on their toes. His East End Irish upbringing gives him the rare ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds. No stranger to either the strange or the norm, he will put an amusing spin on any subject matter going. John has a reputation for thinking on his feet and confidently and cleverly adapting his show to any audience. "Upbeat, interesting and unique" - Carlton TV London "Genius 5 *****" - Daily Telegraph DALISO CHAPONDA Daliso began his comedy career in Canada with the acclaimed one man show ‘Feed This Black Man’. Following this, he began honing his craft in comedy clubs across Canada. Highlights included appearing on the Trans Canada Comedy Trail TV show, the 2005 Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, and the one man show 'Don't Let Them Deport Me'. Since then he has performed in Singapore, Australia, Jordan, and many more countries. In 2011 Daliso Chaponda grew frustrated with the fact that he was better known outside Africa than in Africa so he began a tour called 'Laughrica'. He launched this one man show in Lilongwe, Malawi and followed it up with appearances in Zimbabwe, Nigeria and South Africa. Daliso has also performed at shows in South East Asia in countries such as Singapore, Cambodia, Malaysia and Sri Lanka. Daliso also continues to dominate the African comedy scene. He recently performed in front of over two thousand people at the Stand-Up Africa concert in Johannesburg, South Africa as well as also recently performing at the sell-out Presidents Of Laughrica shows in Malawi. In addition to stand-up comedy, Daliso has also published science fiction, murder mysteries, erotica, literary fiction, religious fiction and fantasy fiction in numerous magazines and anthologies. In 2002 he was a finalist in the L. Ron Hubbard Writer’s of the Future Contest and in 2006 he was short listed for the Carl Brandon Society Award. One of the finest, funniest and most fair-minded comic commentators on race and post-colonial integration that I have seen - Three Weeks, SCOTLAND Full of extravagant gestures and impassioned speeches. He inspires whoops and cheers from his watchers. Highly recommended - BBC Tees, ENGLAND A stand up comedian with raw Eddie Murphy confidence, cheek and super-polished style -Nerve, ENGLAND ‘His act is an exhilerating tour de farce’ - Adelaide Now, AUSTRALIA VIDEO CLIP -

  15. The Last Laugh Comedy Club returns to the City Hall with a fantastic weekend of comedy. Toby Foster hosts Geoff Norcott, Nige and Paul “Sinnerman” Sinha (ITV 1’s The Chase). All wrapped with DJ Foxy's infamous cheesey disco. Venue – The Memorial Hall, Sheffield City Hall Dates – Fri 8 / Sat 9 July 2016 Box Office – 01226 743048 Tickets - £16 (no booking fee) Doors 7pm, show 8 30pm GEOFF NORCOTT Everything Geoff Norcott does is under-pinned by enthusiasm, optimism and a sharp comic mind. On the comedy circuit, Geoff’s abundance of energy combined with a storming mix of observations, impressions and satire has made him a hugely popular act both in the UK and abroad. On television, Geoff’s profile continues to rise with urge using his sharp one-liners and becoming a popular feature of all manner of debates including many topical and sports related shows. Geoff’s expertise isn’t isolated to sports however, having recently filmed a comedy drama pilot for the BBC and playing a key part of the ‘SPOOF’ impressions show line-up on BBC1. As a former teacher, Geoff is a refreshing and humorous commentator on any issues related to education too. Also emerging as a vibrant writer, having written for ‘Parsons & Naylor’ and ‘The Now Show’ on BBC radio & MTV. Geoff has recently been tour support for Sarah Millican’s recent national tour. “Geoff Norcott is a comedian with a big future ahead of him” The Mirror “Master of anecdotal storytelling” Edinburgh Evening News "Funny, charming and optimistic, but with enough good quality dark material to make you believe he means what he’s saying." The List “Geoff Norcott finds fresh ways into his material” The Independent VIDEO CLIP - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpSshtzzJ6A KEITH CARTER AS NIGE Don’t miss Nige at his favourite comedy venue (well the one he hasn’t been barred from). The original and still one of the finest character acts in the UK. Keith Carter began his stand up career in Liverpool's Orgasmic Comedy Club. Although he was booed off that night, he soon returned with the idea that the audience would like his gags better if told by someone else. And so his first character, "Nige" was born. Nige might look like your garden variety shell-suited scally, but beneath this vacant stereotype lies a wealth of intelligent off-beat gags and keenly observed parodies. Keith Carter is a notable talent on the Comedy scene right now and with a growing repetoire of strange and acutely observed characters to play with, isn't that reminiscent of a certain Mr Coogan, some years back? Capital of Culture judge, Sir Jeremy Isaacs was quoted in the news as saying, ‘He helped Liverpool win the bid,’ after seeing Carter’s comic creation and Liverpool cult hero, ‘Nige’ perform at the cultural bid show for the judges. ‘A character comedian of rare skill.’ The Guardian ‘Surely this man will have his own show in a few years time.’ Chortle ‘Give this man a sitcom.’ Edinburgh Evening News 'Nige For Mayor Of Liverpool?' Liverpool VIDEO CLIP - PAUL SINHA Medically qualified Paul Sinha is now a critically acclaimed international stand up comedian of many years standing who first achieved media recognition in 2006 when his solo show Saint or Sinha was nominated for the If.comedy (formerly Perrier) award at the Edinburgh Festival. Since then he has been something of a fixture on Radio 4 with the series Paul Sinha’s Citizenship Test and Paul Sinha’s History Revision as well as one off shows on cricket, the 2012 Olympics and Magna Carta. He has also made frequent appearances on Radio 4 favourites News Quiz, Just a Minute, and The Now Show and has registered several victories on Radio 5’s feisty weekly sports panel show Just a Minute. As a live comic, Paul has performed several extremely well received solo shows, has had two national tours, performed in Beijing, Munich, Amsterdam, Barcelona and Tokyo as well as many non Olympic cities across the globe. He appeared in the first two series of the Stewart Lee curated tv show Alternative Comedy Experience and in 2014 Paul was voted “Best Club Comedian” in the annual Chortle Awards. In addition to this Paul has carved out a further career as a professional quizzer, attaining grandmaster status in 2014, reaching a career high UK ranking of 7 in 2015. Since 2011 Paul has been one of the regular “Chasers” on ITV’s award winning quiz show The Chase. "Sinha's wonderfully uncluttered one-liners are delivered with the crisp clarity of cut glass, but, crucially, his set retains an engaging warmth. He doesn't so much walk the line between controversy and outrage as use it for a skipping rope.Highly original." Metro, June 2005 "Universal anecdotes as warmly delivered as you would find anywhere........it’s a pleasure listening to him" - Steve Bennett, Chortle "His confidence on stage was excellent and his talent for adlibbing and summoning gags off the cuff were very funny" - BBC Online VIDEO CLIP - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pF46IBjY4lM
