  1. Yeah welfare greatly reduced since 2011/12. Most people on benefits are contributing towards CT & rent in the private sector. ---------- Post added 22-08-2018 at 12:13 ---------- Which circles back to original point, low & middle incomes are disproportionately impacted by taxation & stealth tax. A cut is effectively "tax".
  2. Some "help". Even disabled people have to make a Contribution to CT out of benefits.
  3. CT isn't paid for if on benefits. ---------- Post added 22-08-2018 at 11:38 ---------- Neither is gas, electric, travel or housing under many circumstances.
  4. Incorrect 30 years. And those graduating 2000 to 2012 how much they paying back? ---------- Post added 22-08-2018 at 11:24 ---------- Average wage in Sheffield is £18k. ---------- Post added 22-08-2018 at 11:25 ---------- Cos students take out a maintenance loan, they don't work full time. ---------- Post added 22-08-2018 at 11:26 ---------- On a masters upwards you might not work at all. ---------- Post added 22-08-2018 at 11:29 ---------- It's still a debt that's deducted automatically. Unless self employed or on low wage can't escape paying.
  5. Reading between the lines you conceded the point way back. Still haven't said if motorists are safe or less with insurance?
  6. Yeah I do, the student is basically in debt over life time as interest rates are so high. You wrongly seem to think its not a debt that is repaid. ---------- Post added 22-08-2018 at 09:07 ---------- The vast majority aren't even on 25000 threshold plan. Millions been paying back at 15000 then 18000, it recently went up to 19000 summat. ---------- Post added 22-08-2018 at 09:08 ---------- The only reasons debt doesn't get repaid 100% of applicants is wages are so low & humans simply run out of working life!!! ---------- Post added 22-08-2018 at 09:17 ---------- Simple maths test: Student graduates 2018.On a £30000 average salary with a £50000 student debt @ 7% interest. a) how much loan is the student paying back every year net? b) how many years will it take to pay back loan?
  7. You said benefit claimants get stuff paid for. Which was wrong. I explained why.
  8. The mainstream media is owned by tax dodgers with a lot to lose. Social media is a platform where at least the truth gets through & people can find out what Corbyn believes. The under 50s voted Labour 2 to 1 over conservatives btw, not just about free tuition fees.
  9. Made £1.3 billion profit last year, don't pay pilots or staff properly & cheques bounce https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-45262871
  10. So what about the millions of students lumbered with debt on £18000 threshold?? It doesn't automatically jump to 25 grand. ---------- Post added 22-08-2018 at 07:39 ---------- And do you know how high interest rates are? Guessing probably not.
  11. Costs are going up, interest rates & mortgages just went up, wages aren't going up much, expect more closures tbh.
