  1. Hi OUR Broomhall: We have recently started a new community history project about the history of Broomhall area and its people. We will be creating a new book, exhibition and book about the area and it would be great if any of you with memories or old photos of the area could get involved. We will be looking to interview people to create short clips for our website etc or you can attend our Wed afternoon drop in from 2-5pm at the Broomhall Centre on Broomspring Lane. Or contact me below if you have a story to share or a photo to contribute. Our launch event is this Saturday at the Broomhall Centre from 3-8pm - all welcome! 3. Hi I wonder if you are still on here Kashul as I noticed you said your hubbie lived at no 51 Button Lane. I am trying to find out more about where no 51 was along the Lane (in relation to present day Charter Row) as some of my ancestors lived at no 51 in the 1861 census - Ann Beal listed as Lodging House Keeper. I am related to her daughter Martha Alathea Beal and her husband Daniel Peace.
  4. Hi Gordon is great but yes I think he may have retired now. My husband, Robert Beard, conducts various types of ceremonies (he did the Humanist ceremony for Gordon's daughter last year). But you still do need to have an official registrar there or get married elsewhere first. Robert's email is [email protected] if you want to contact him.
  5. In the past I've hired them for £1 each from Flora - the florist on Eccelsall Road. Depends if you want to keep them Jennie Hansley Beard Event Planning and Design
  6. You could try Ascot Marquees in Sheffield as I think they have dressed barns before. Or Design Services in Derby - google 'presentation by design derby' Jennie Hansley Beard Event Planning & Design
