  1. We're having a problem with the shower in our bathroom. The water flow/pressure is fine but it doesn't get hot. Basically our plumber says that it needs a new thermostatic cartridge but he can't do it unless we can find out the make/model. Otherwise he'd need to take off the tiles to find out which cartridge it needs. So... does anyone here recognise the shower who could tell us the make?? It'd be much appreciated. http://s585.photobucket.com/user/clumperillo/library/Shower?sort=3&page=1

  3. Does anyone have the new mobile number of Tony Van Man who used to post on here regularly? The old one isn't working and I need some help to move house!
  4. Hhhmmmm. I know you're right but it's galling after so much money! Do you have any recommendations, I've heard that Worcester Bosch are good but costly to repair.
  5. I'm having major problems with a Saunier Duval boiler and wondered if anyone can offer some advice. It was installed in 2003 and has been okay, apart from a few gas valves and pressure issues in the past. However for the past month it has been a nightmare, I've had a plumber out 4 times who has fixed it and then it breaks down again within a couple of days. So far I've spent £640 on it and it has now broken again - the red fault light is flashing on and off. I think so far I've had a new gas valve, new remote timer and new "thing" to fill up the pressure (the blue nob underneath that fills it up). Now the pressure bar is off the scale and it's not working again. So, so sick of it and any help would be much appreciated.
  6. Funny this because i've never met anyone else with Keraticonus and nobody has ever heard of it. I was diagnosed with this when I was 15 and have worn hard gas permeable lenses ever since. I too thought you persevered with the contacts until the cornea changed so much that you had to have a graft. Saying that I don't find it to be a problem at all and the lenses are generally comfortable, unless you get some grit in them - agony! I also hadn't realised that other sufferers could get such a variation of problems that went along with it. I can't see a thing without my lenses but once they're in everything is fine; no problems with co-ordination or driving etc. Saying that it'd be nice sometimes to have the option of wearing glasses, especially when the eyes are tired.
  7. Does anyone know if Craig Unwin is still trading? If so do you have a number? I need windows fitting and he was recommended.
  8. I only want to do one of these courses to be able to do improvements to my own home, not start my own business. I hope that these courses will be good basis for this kind of thing.
  9. You can do one in Sheffield on 2 weekends or during the week at a place called Skilled 4 Life http://www.skilled4life.com I fancy doing one too!
  10. Get Bob the Builder in, he'll do a good job. I'm getting him in to fit my lintels.
  11. Hi Do you do any evening courses for beginners? I've been wanting to learn for ages....
  12. Anyone know where I can get rid of old electronic things such as printers, computer monitors, TVs and video recorders? They all work but we don't need them any more. I don't want to just chuck them out and the men at the tip said they'd only landfil them. I don't think charity shops take them either. Any ideas? Someone would be able to find a use for them i'm sure.
  13. Is there anyone out there who is a V1 qualified internal verifier, specifically in the construction sector? My company needs one sharpish!
  14. Anyone else having problems with water supply in Crookes near Cross Lane? Maybe with the cold snap its the time of year that pipes will start bursting!
  15. I've only ever had new roofs on terraces (3 bedroomed) and for each of these the cost has always been around 3 grand.
