  2. In Elsecar Heritage Centre as well as the Antique center there is Daisy Chain Records, ring 01226 745902, for opening times they are mostly old vinyl. The rail way journey from Sheffield to Elsecar is thirty minute and then it's is a twenty minute walk down hill to the center but it's worth it.
  3. I collect many things but mainly Old Boy's Toy's from the 1950's onwards, what ever take's my fancy at Toy Fairs.
  4. Toy Fair at Elsecar Heritage Centre Barnsley five minute drive from Chapeltown towards Barnsley Tuesday 16th November starts at 6.30pm ample parking follow the brown signs.
  5. There is a model / arty shop in Fitzalan square in Sheffield that sells that kind of models, Maybe try Wargames Emporium in Orchard Square Sheffield, go up the metal stair case then through those blue double doors, and its at the top of the spiral staircase they are on the top floor. In Barnsley in the Victorian Arcade which is off Eldon Street, not in the new market or shopping center, is Barnsley Wargaming Center, shop, pedestrians only part of the oldest part of Barnsley, there is also or was in Medowhall a shop that sold gaming figures ---- good luck.
  6. Before my son decided to do this restoration I showed him pictures I had of my 1968 Red Mini then hand brushed green and black Mini turn the key and press the starter solenoid on the floor fish for the gears and off you go, modified a bit when I had the cash, but no furry dice, it went when one morning going to work I jumped in and the drivers seat went through the floor the floor pan gave way. We had a scrap yard called Gedneys in Hemmingfield where you walked passed the chained up guard dog said hello to old man Gedney and rummaged over all sorts of classics I think I was the only one with Jaguar Petrol, temperature and oil pressure gauge on my dash board thirty pound a mini he would pay for scrap Mini's worth a fortune today. Any way so he had a plan but so far the job list is getting longer and the pocket deeper. Never mind --- thanks to all for your help.
  7. Does any one out there know off a car spare's in our area South Yorkshire, Sheffield not scrap yards yet, who sell's old Mini parts preferably new, I'm talking 1991. We have bought a 1991 Mini Mayfair Auto as a project to semi restore and need bits already to get it running right, we know there is on line but need a bit of advice too. Many thanks
  8. Couple of things to consider. I put up two sheds a 10x12 and 6x8 1: the base, lay flag stones with brick pillers with battons or planks across to sit the shed on, never put a shed straight onto the floor, flags or earth water will still get underneath it and it will sink and rot in a couple of years a shed must have an air flow under it. 2: sounds daft but allow your self at least 2 to 3 foot all the way around the shed, why at some point in its life you will have to re-treat the wood and replace the felt and if you cannot get to it then your up a creek with no paddle. 3: Don't put it to close to a fence yours or your neighbour's you may have to and your neighbour may want to treat the fence your side. 4: We face due south and my shed's get hot so I cut small square air vent size hole's to allow an air flow through the shed, B&Q sell plastic air vents. I'm not saying you may not have considered these point's but just a memory jog help's. I live in Chapeltown too.

  10. There is a sort of shop / pub that sell's unusual beer's and ciders in Elsecar Heritage center I don't know the opening times I expect if you ring the center they will know. 01226 740203
  11. Morning, we had our's done a few years ago now ours are a straight up and down little box semi's both my neighbour and I had them done together so he could get a straight run on putting up the soffits fewer joint's, looks tidy, only one caution though, some near us have had white boards which need washing every so often some have brown which don't look bad we had black and we face due south so over the years the drain pipes have started to fade to a grey'ish colour obviously a cheaper grade of plastic for the fall pipe's, may be some thing to ask about . Total cost of two men plus scaffolding over two day's with material £2,500, I said it was a long time ago.
  12. Recived a e,mail today about a book I ordered from Amazon the book was paid for and postage was free, the e.mail from, [ noreply@formresponse ] acting for [DHL-EXPRESS] said I owed £1.99 in shipping fees before it could be delivered and I must make this payment today, it then gives me an option to complete my payment before the package can be delivered, in other words get my bank details. The give away that this is SPAM is if you click on the [service-dhl@support,co,uk] part of the senders e.mail address it gives 25 other people who got the same e.mail, and DHL. Do Not deliver Amazon parcels. Just one of many scam's.
  13. I was once a five times a night man now as said nothing to drink at least three hours before bed especially if you are diabetic, medication Solifenacin one with breakfast one after tea, Mirabegron one a day after tea thats three a day does it help you ask, I still go at least twice a night some times it's just an urge some times a trickle, if it's playing on your mind waiting for the urge then you will never have a night's sleep.
  14. Hi Victor, Sounds intresting.
  15. The more people, men, put their experiences of having prostate cancer or investigation into prostate cancer on this forum, how it went for them, it was not as bad as they expected then other's might over come the trepidation of going to their Doctor if they don't feel well. Just a thought. :)
